A woman has alerted the public about a negative experience with a filler injection at a Pattaya clinic, which left her face swollen for almost two years. She emphasized the importance of verifying clinic credentials after undergoing the procedure in August 2023 for facial melasma. Despite paying 40,000 baht for the treatment, her condition worsened, leading to swelling and distortion.

The procedure was suggested by someone claiming to be a doctor at the clinic in Sattahip, with assurances that it would enhance her appearance. Initially seeking melasma treatment, she was persuaded to try the filler, priced at 33,999 baht. Over time, despite follow-ups and additional injections, her symptoms did not improve.

After a year of persistent issues, she consulted the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, which found no allergic reactions, pointing to the filler as the cause. Further intervention at a Bangkok hospital finally led to improvement. She has since filed a complaint with the Sattahip Police and the Medical Council of Thailand, seeking accountability from the clinic.

The woman stated her motivation is public safety, questioning the qualifications of the practitioner who administered the injections. The clinic offered financial compensation, but she continues to push for responsibility, as the individual involved may not have been a licensed doctor.

In another incident, a Thai doctor received a six-month sentence due to a surgery gone wrong, resulting in a woman's coma six years ago. Another doctor who owned the clinic faces a three-month sentence, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Woman suffers two-year facial swelling after filler injection in Pattaya.

  • Clinic's credibility questioned; police report filed and compensation offered.

  • Similar cases highlight ongoing concerns about unlicensed practices.

  • When will women learn. Men do not like lip fillers and a trout pout. It does not look beautiful. It looks ridiculous.

Yes you are correct. They are. Filler plumps up the lips or stretches out wrinkles. Botox actually paralyses the area stopping natural movement so it stays smooth. I'm female (possibly the only one

Glad the place that sold me the hair growing lotion is the real thing though! I look and smell like a coconut!

what a waste of money... and is the clinic really registered?? I am always wondering why a lot of fake doctors can open clinics... Is there no institution that control and check anything? I know this is Thailand everybody can do as they want, but don't play with lives of people please

They use Botox to fill lips cheeks etc. My Sister got Botox for her lips in the U.S. for about $150.00 On top of the botched process she got ripped of big time.

it would be great if they consulted someone before, its fixing that doesnt need fixing, and often times makes less perfect

Thai women already have very full lips, it's even one of the primary features. These lip injections look comical at best and hideous at worst.

I'm female (possibly the only one on this forum it seems!) and way past my youth but I just don't get it.

It always looks weird and unnatural and there are so many dangers. Worse is, it's not just older women trying to hold back time, but so many young women are doing this to themselves. Men too!

Botox is generally available at specialist clinics, whereas you can get filler at the likes of Thai Watsadu.

My point or query was what they were used for rather than where they are available. 🦴

Do some men really like the Duck Lip look?

I find it hideous!
I guess every age has its own fashion standards, but what's next? The Ubangi lip disks?

How does one eat with that thing in their mouth?

My point is it's an unregulated industry that has frequently been found guilty of using non-medical grade products.

If you really need to know the difference between Botox and fillers, there's always Google.

This could make life interesting if trying to get oral sex ☹️

Same thing happened to my lips last time my wife caught me getting a "massage" and smacked me with my cricket bat. The Angelina Jolie look.

Yeah, right.

If this is not fueled by men, then why would women bother? Do you think she's lesbian maybe?

Same with breast implants - absolutely fueled by idiot men telling their gfs their boobs are too small or idiots buying more lady drinks for the girls with fake boobs at gogo clubs.

Done properly by well trained, experienced doctors it does not lo9k weird or unnatural.

But it is costly.

Problems arise hen people try to get it done on the cheap.

Just imagine if people were comfortable in their own skin.

Billions lost to the cosmetic industry, the fashion industry, and the mirror manufacturers.

It’s all so foolish. The world is controlled by advertising, and yet people don’t even believe that they are being manipulated.

or more to the point: how is bj gonna pan out with that equipment ?

Of course it's better to deal with a qualified and licensed clinic, but nonetheless many women are way too casual when it comes to cosmetic surgery and they just don't seem to understand the risks .

Nice to see I'm not the only female here after all! I do however wonder about that though.

You see a lot of very wealthy women in the public eye who can definitely afford the best but it still looks unnatural to say the least. It always sticks out like a sore thumb to me.....

Depends on what one asks for and who does it.

I have been doing it for decades. I always ask for a completely natural look, and I get it.

I look 10-15 years younger than I am. Nobody ever thinks I've had anything done, just that I look well rested and younger than my actual age,.
