A late-night outing for alcohol ended in chaos for Russian tourists in Pattaya’s Jomtien area, resulting in one man unconscious. The incident, which unfolded on January 8th at 11:06 p.m., stemmed from a fight outside a convenience store. The altercation left one tourist with a head laceration after falling and hitting his head on the pavement.

The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and Pattaya City Police were called to the scene after reports of injuries. Upon arrival, authorities discovered seven Russian tourists gathered around their injured friend, who lost consciousness briefly after being punched. First aid was offered, but the man refused further medical attention.

All members of the party were friends vacationing together and reconciled swiftly after the altercation. The group hugged and left the scene without filing any complaints or seeking legal action. Eyewitnesses described the group entering the store in high spirits to buy alcohol, but tensions flared once outside, leading to a scuffle and broken bottles.

Efforts to intervene by one of the tourists inadvertently resulted in his injury, as he was accidentally punched while attempting to stop the fight. His fall onto the concrete rendered him briefly unconscious. Authorities found the situation resolved amicably by the time they arrived, with no desire from the tourists to escalate it further.

Pattaya's nightlife is known for incidents involving inebriated tourists, although most conclude without significant injuries or police reports, reported The Pattaya News.

Key Takeaways

  • A fight among Russian tourists in Pattaya led to one man injured.

  • No formal complaints were filed, and the group resolved the fight amicably.

  • Incidents like these are common but rarely result in serious consequences.

Cue the unimaginative "quality tourist", "family resort", "send them to the Ukraine front" and "blacklist and deport" posts.

Drink, drugs, inner unsolved mental and mainly ego issues and it's a deadly mix at the wee hours of the morning.

Happens to many in Thailand no matter from which country they are from.

Lucky he's not in a coma, or dead, from his head hitting the concrete. Then all bets are off with the Thai police.

Other than working illegally, buying up property, turning Thai cities into Moscow, Russians tend to be harmless - but they have a weird tendancy for extreme violence when they do get going. Which is ironic as most are fleeing and hiding so they don't get called up to the front line.

Sending them to the front, does not help the Ukrainians does it.....but a life ban would be fine.

Less than 1% of fighting age Russian males are on the frontlines

What's "fighting age" exactly, and can you quantify this one percent?

And rightly so. Jomtien has become Little Moscow. Jomtien Night Market I just avoid altogether. The crap jenka «music» doesn’t help either.

So I thought «lets try Pratamnak Market. Surely cant be any worse». Wrong. Found myself trying to enjoy some food, but 3 metres away there was a spewing contest with a couple of…you guessed it…russian contestants. «BUT WE SMOK TO MUSH, SO WE NEED STAND JUST BEHIND YU AND TROW UP!! BECAUSE SMOK TO MUSH. SO NO PRRRROBLEM!! WE RUSSIA.»

Yeah…so no. Please cue them.

Nothing different from other countries all over the world. Just that they make such a big fuzz in the news about everything here. In other countries it doesn´t reach the press.

You know, maybe she didn´t think so much about that at the moment, and more about her friend. I guess that was too hard to understand.

Russians are notorious for their drinking ability which is getting drunk only once, from the moment they arrive until they depart.

Well, she did keep it arsey

Jeeze, when the Russians get stuck into the Vodka/ Johnny Walker Scotch look out.

If that's what they do to their mates then imagine what they do to acquaintances.

I had Russian friends at Bondi Beach - Sydney in the 80's with my 1st wife and we were invited to lunch. We sat at the big table with 5 other couples. Each couple (being husband and wife) and each pair were given a full bottle of Vodka and Johnny Walker. I was f,,cked even before the food was served?

That’s strange. If they have wives, they shouldn’t be gay. Do you remember who did it?

I had a week in London, Rome, and a few days in Zurich. It was wonderful without Russians. But the sheer volume of Chinese tourists was astonishing.
