FA Cup 2025/2026

Red Dragons through.

Saturday 10th Jan. Big boys in for this round. Forest already gone. Who else from the EPL gonna bite the dust?

Either Toffeez or Black Cats have to go.

Can Mansfield upset the holders?

Clarets v The Lions of Saff London. Shock there maybe.

Toon or Cherries to go.

Same with Spurs v Villa. Which one?

A great London match up. Charlton at home to Chelsea. Could be a surprise there.

looking down the Sunday fixtures, it is the Irons v QPR match that gets a ??? Irons are on a dreadful run. Rangers not doing good or bad in the championship. Just unpredictable. So!! An upset is definitely on the cards at the London Stadium?

Either United or Seagulls have to go out.

Can't see any other shocks.

So my prediction; just 7 ELP clubs not to go through.

Sorry folks. Got that wrong. It's: Macciesfield v Palace. And at the time of posting the The Silkmen are winning 2-0 after 72 minutes.

Stunning win by the Macc Lads. They fully deserved it too. Managed by John Rooney, Wayne's brother. Wayne was in attendance. I loved how the club's owner led the pitch invasion at the end.

Best tie I have seen so far was in a qualifying round and was an Essex derby, Chelmsford v Braintree.

Non-league footy gets some big crowds in post Covid. It really unites the smaller towns and villages. No divas or prima donnas rolling around mortally wounded, just hard and fair sport.

I randomly watched that match and it was amazing. What a piece of history. I sure as hell dont want Palaces manager to move to United LOL

The pitch invasion was in keeping with the event.

I hope they get another home game next round.

And irony of irony. Last years runner up to Palace put 10 past their opposition.

Man City 10 --- Exeter 1

Watched the Pompey vs Arsenal match.

Not a great game, but decent FA Cup fixture. Good old stadium. Draw for the 4th round later tonight.

As long as Macclesfield and Wrexham get homw draws, I don't mind who plays who.

However! I can't honestly see either of them lifting the trophy at Wembley this year. Man City will do that for sure.

The 4th round draw is in & some decent matches:

Macclesfield vs Brentford.

Oxford vs Sunderland.

Birmingham vs Leeds.

Hull vs Chelsea.

Liverpool vs Brighton.

Villa vs Newcastle.

Have to say that my favourites would be Man City too. 🏆

Always good when a tiddler gets a home game against a pike, Brum and Tigers have decent chances. Both playing OK. Not confident that The Silkmen can repeat the feat. But you never know. Fingers crossed for them.

A bit early, but I've bolded my selections.

  • Liverpool v Brighton ----- Come on you Seagulls.

  • Stoke City v Fulham ----- Dark horse for the semies.

  • Oxford United v Sunderland ----- Hope I'm wrong

  • Southampton v Leicester City ----- Don't mind either one

  • Wrexham v Ipswich Town ----- Hope I'm not wrong

  • Arsenal v Wigan ----- Semies for sure. Hope I'm wrong

  • Hull City v Chelsea ----- Always hope for a Tiger

  • Burton Albion v West Ham ----- hope I'm wrong

  • Burnley v Mansfield Town ----- Hope I'm wrong

  • Norwich City v West Brom ----- Don't mind either one

  • Port Vale v Bristol City ----- Don't mind either one

  • Grimsby Town v Wolves ----- Hope I'm wrong

  • Aston Villa v Newcastle ----- Don't mind either one

  • Manchester City v Salford/Swindon ----- My tip to win. Another double figure score?

  • Macclesfield v Brentford ----- Hope I'm wrong

  • Birmingham City v Leeds ----- Don't mind either one

Certainly some chances for shocks there. Lucky City & Pool get 'easy' second home games.

  • 1 month later...

5th round draw & 3 ties stand out:

Newcastle vs Man City

Wrexham vs Chelsea

Mansfield vs Arsenal
