You are quite correct but this is only a part of the story. Throughout the centuries the Jews figured one thing right - knowledge is pretty much the only thing which can't be taken away from you. When you are persecuted and everything you have can be confiscated, the knowledge is the only thing which stays with you, so the Jews started valuing the knowledge and education more than anyone else in the West.

Unfortunately for them now there is another tribe with the same values, except they are 1.4 billion. The change of guard looks inevitable. I haven't met a Jew who is not a morbid China hater, usually covered by things like "I like the Chinese but don't like CCP".
