Drunken Rant: Foreigner Criticizes Thais, Praises Cambodia

Featured Replies

What a moron. Had a drunken bust up with his wife, which obviously didn’t go to well, so then decided to be really stupid and express his opinion about Cambodia and Thailand, maybe to demean his wife, on a train full of Thai passengers. That’s never going to end well in the current situation between both countries, which he probably is well aware of and why he said it. His wife must be so glad of the negative attention her man child husband has drawn to her and his idiotic behaviour, and the loss of face to her personally.Time to move on honey.

The article says other passengers helped 'restrain' the man.

Didn't look restraining to me. Looked more like the other passenger was trying to get in as many ineffective punches as he could, taking advantage of the fact that he was standing behind two other people for his protection.

This facet of Thai culture sickens me. Such a wonderful, rich culture, marred by such an often-seen behavior.

If he is really so unhappy with this country, he should not have stepped in in the first instance. Leave at once to save your own skin, you <deleted>. (i am referring to that <deleted> in the video clip)

For many, living the dream in Thailand turns into a nightmare. Many break all the golden rules because, "My girl is different." 🙂

Contrary to the advice from many, they invest in Thailand both financially and emotionally, so now they can't leave. They see out their days living like a pauper, drinking too much, and angry at the world.

More likely he got upset with the rising costs of treating sick buffaloes....

Could be. He had to sell the car to pay for the veterinarian, and ended up having to catch a train. 😂

A representative of a stress-free raised generation that believes they deserve everything. The boy is from Poland (He is swearing Polish). My generation was raised to respect elders and be taught good behavior, otherwise, they faced corporal punishment, either from their parents and teachers. I dream of teleporting these Thai passengers to European public transportation to bring order to unruly youth.

Sometimes de escalation works, sometimes folks have to be pacified. I don’t like violence, but seemed to me that he fell into the latter group.

All in all, I’d say he got off lightly. Imagine being a Celtic supporter and going around Glasgow insulting Rangers? Eventually you’d get trouble. And that’s just football.

In the original video, when being escorted off the train he starts chanting USA USA USA

If he is so stupid to say bad things about Thailand and say good things about Cambodia after the recent war then he deserves what he gets.

Perhaps an unhappy visa runner. 🙂

Nah just a complete nutter revoke his visa and send him back to his own country

Unfortunate The train employees got in the way of the locals. It would have been better viewing if the beating had gone on for another couple of minutes by the passengers.

You will see, you will see, is what he is shouting.

He would have been shouting '' see you jimmy'' not you will see.....cheesy

I hope he presses charges, this <deleted> always happens and always gets reported wrong. The evidence on the video is clear, he got assulted first, he fought back in self defence. Tough Thai guy could not mind his own bussiness, tried to choke the guy out, grabbed him around the throat, any man would feel instantly threatened when they get choked so he punched back in self defence, then like usual every wanna be mui thai fighter in a 100m radius jump in for a head kick. Anyone who has lived here long enough would know what happened.... all you wankjobs saying otherwise are clearly sucking up, for what I do not know. The guy probaly pays more tax to the revenue department here than most people on the train. Mean while tough Thai guy goes home gets smashed on Lao Khao and does god knows what....

No lol, he said YOU WILL SEE, YOU WILL SEE.... IE: when he presses charges against them and takes them to court they will see ^_^ but like most Thai media you will never hear about the follow up and what happned. He is 100% in the right and any court can agree they attacked him first and in a cowardly way.

Why rant like that in public for nothing and make a nuisance and give all falangs a bad image ?

Just act, be quiet and the next time go to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and other places in Asia that can be less a immigration hassle and be more respectful towards foreigners.

He is an idiot. But this urge of Thai men to join in when there is a fight of many again one is quite unhealthy IMO.

Yes. What would have even been better is if the other passengers had thrown him off the train at full speed! He deserved that.

I think the Thais are a lovely people, and they are also a very proud people, so how do you think it makes them feel when a foreigner goes off about how terrible they are, and how bad life is here? What is the foreigner doing here if life is so bad, and why doesn't he just leave and do us all a favor?

It’s disappointing that the bloke didn’t get what he deserves for being an ignorant <deleted>.

If you read a little more carefully, you'll see that I didn't say that the foreign man didn't deserve to be kicked off the train.

I said the cowardly behavior of Thai men in these situations is disturbing.

That foreigner needs to pay for any property damage he made.

For entertainment value, gotta give it to the guy in the purple shirt who went all in on the action.

Really? launched about a dozen punches from behind and the foreigner is still standing as though nothing hit him.

For god sake. What a idiotic behaviour of that Farang. They should kick him out of Thailand. Totally disrespectful.

He threw the 1st punch so retribution was inevitable and richly deserved. 6 months in prison then deported with a 10 year ban .

are you new to Thailand? Plus talking bad about Thais and talking good about Cambodia while in Thailand is not a great idea.
