Aircondition 24000btu

Featured Replies

40m2 glass balcony poor insulation

Any suggestions on aircon pluss minus 25k

Based on experiences?

I do have 4 Mitsubishi inverters, but in my gym I have a ordinary budget Central air 19000 btu. Which is a Thai brand

I want an inverter with enough power to not overload during the hot season.

I've been shopping ACs (I'm buying six) and for the wall mounts I've settled on the Carrier Copper 11 models. I have had great long-term luck with Carrier, and they have a great warranty and service, both of which I have used. I'd go with the 25,200BTU in that room, which is 29,900 installed from Modern Air.

If you have a good local guy that sold you your mitsus, just go with him. If you want another mitsu, get him to quote, and check the price from Modern Air and get him to match.

Good choice TCL, slightly surprised the cost was 22,990, did you look on Shopee and Lazada? 13k baht on Shopee for 24k BTU https://th.shp.ee/Daj42Qf

All air conditioners have mixed reviews. That said, people that buy "premium" brands are much less likely to complain that people that buy more competitive brands.

Look at the terms and duration of the warranty. Competitive brands typically have better warranties.

Well, there is a jungle out there and also see they had a 24k btu for 14k or so now. I had my eyes on a 24k btu inverter for 18k baht, and the one i bought was next to it, and he said this 25k Btu was an inverter model and with WiFi control, so I made a quick impulsive buy on the foot, and continued to shopping. I just realized it was not inverter and no WiFi, so we are dealing with them on phone now.

I might change it to the 30k Btu with wifi instead, but thats 30k or so. Or just scale it down to the 24k Btu for 14k baht. We will see.

When Im shopping at Lazada, I buy only from Lazmall shops, but things I want installed I rather buy from a solid company who can follow up on service and guarantee. Sometimes saving a few thousands doesnt mean it will ble less complicated.

If you are only planning on using it while you are actually using the gym, an inverter makes little sense.

Single pane?

How cool do you want to keep it?

Around 21 - 24 Celsius depending on the day, and if Im going to use it for my daily rowing or skiing session. Single pane yes, hard to obtain anything else with the local workers. And considering it was a short notice call when the air turned toxic so quick this year. Rarely been so bad so early before, but now all the farmers burn what they can burn before 1. of February. That means burning wet not dry grass and sugar cane fields. They even managed to put the forrest on the mountain on fire here to.

You are going to need a lot bigger unit.

Curtains would help, as would a decent film.

We have good roofing and where the sun gets up it is closed with one window only. So the front part is only exposed to the afternoon sun.

Well me will change for the 30k btu if they have it stock. They are still figuring out with my wife now, and we canceled the installation today.

Is this not the 40m^2 room that has a single-pane glass on two walls?

Hoe much extra do you pay for Wifi control? Mine doesn't have it but I bought a universal IR smart controller for 165 Thai baht on Lazada and that does the job.

For large rooms the best you can get (unfortunately not for this price) is a cassette style aircon installed in the middle of the room at the ceiling. It will blow in all 4 directions at the same time and the cooling effect will be unbeatable.

There are a lot of advantages to 4-way cassettes over the wall units, the only negative is the price. I'm looking at a 60K unit for my living room, but I'm not sure I can get it to fit without moving a sewar pipe. I may have to go ducted.

Most of the newer units you can program for two, three or four directions.

We where stuck with this even the salesman/boy promoted wrong model to me for being inverter with WiFi, so? I tried to change to a 30k btu, but out of stock and not even possible to order for me. That 30k btu inverter with wifi 31 000,-

I kind of regret now for not pushing harder to make them change or cancel the order

Do you not have a local AC shop?

The local guy got cancer, and do not work anymore. No local AC shop, we are out in the sticks.

If this do not work to well, I will add one unit later on the other wall. We will see. If one go down, you still got one right ;-)

They seem to last forever with a minimum of care and decent power.

Make sure it drains correctly. It seems to me, that at least 90% of the problems guys have with their AC units is due to poor and or incomplete draining. I like to leave them run in "fan" mode for a few hours before I clean the filters to dry the unit out and stop/slow the cr*p buildup.

Incidentally, one of the big benefits of the 4-way cassette is that they have a propeller fan, rather than a wheel fan, and the fan never gets wet. Filter area is also much larger and better with the 4-way.

4 way cassette aicon would be a bit overkill for me. But the wall mounted 30k btu, I guess would had been an much better option. Well it is to late to regret now, since he is on his way to install now. Was delayed two days because we tried to change. And I got to try sitting here in 33celsius yesterday just with a fan, at it wasnt to bad actually, so I can survive with 26-28 celsius comfortably. And only do my cardio sessions in the early morning when it is a bit more chill before sun gets up.
