the worst and most misbehaved drivers in the north are from bkk.

The ambulance inconvenienced him, how dare they. Convenience, it's why some drive on the sidewalk, double-park to get a hot dog at Seven, make U-turns wherever and whenever... Their own convenience co

  • Lots of logic. Having lived in and driven in numerous countries around the world, Thailand is the only place where I have ever witnessed and read numerous news reports of locals purposefully blocking

I live up north and I have seen the same. I have also seen the opposite. I have been in an ambulance 3 times in the past 4 years and they do seem to have a good run to the hospital.

It has improved a bit in the last 20 years in thailand. But no where near enough.

You need to do better thai people.

In my country traffic parts like the red sea for ambulances.

That's how it works in the USA. People move over for law enforcement, Fire, and Rescue.

I could make a really sick joke about that comment but ill refrain. Too soon. 😅😅

And most of them are foreigners.

Same in my original country, everybody (repeat everybody) moves quickly out of the path of any emergency vehicle. Often note drivres who have moved to the side hand signalling other drivers that there's a space to the side that could increase the fee area to help get the emergency vehicle throught, and everybody reacts to help.

I recall decades ago I was still living in Melbourne and I was a member of a support group for Thai students. We had an informal get together every Friday night. Many times new students asked 'why do drivers stop at pedestrian crossings. Thai students who had been in Melbourne longer term very often answered 'pedestrians have rights too' etc. Same with questions about moving aside for ambulances etc... Often enough the questioner would say 'but I don't know the family the patient comes from' etc. Most times this response would invoke quite strong comments from the Thai students who had been in Melbourne longer term very often answered 'here in Australia we don't have attitudes like that and I really like that. Listen and learn, you're now in another country'.

I’m not surprised they wonder why people stop for people at road crossings. They need a cultural shift in this area.

Right so every time I see an ambulance being blocked it just so happens it is always Burmese, Cambodian and Farang drivers being total d*** heads

Nobody said that, just your ignorant lack of common sense logic.

Seriously what's wrong with these people? Many go off for no reason and have little or no respect for the police, ambulances and others on a daily basis. I think it's time to change it from Land of Smiles to something else.

The police themselves are partially to blame for this because they never lay down the law and show these people who's boss. Inconsiderate and reckless driving has gone totally on unabaited since they've imported their first car and now we have generations of people that never learned how to behave properly when on the road.

What was said was

"Any excuse and the anti-Thai bigotry comes out. No logic. So, is your lack of logic and common sense any better than the things you accuse Thai people of? What do I mean? 1) The driver hasn't yet been identified so we don't know what nationality they are. 2) Anyone registering a car locally will have a local plate so a locally registered plate proves nothing in and of itself. 3) I've witnessed many road rage incidents in the US, never personally saw one here in 13 years. 4) Any and every city is going to have increased driver problems due to the sheer volume of drivers and the frustrating nature of city driving, congestion, traffic jams etc. Did anyone see Jim Waldron's comment?"

In other words it couldn't possibly be a Thai driver.
