How long do your led bulbs last?

Featured Replies

As the title says, how long?

I have recessed downlights that take regular round led's. I use Lamptans 10w or 11w and they last about 2 years.

No idea. I have some that are 5-7 years old and some die quick.

  • 3 weeks later...

I replaced my 15 ceiling lamps by (then expensive) philips 7.5w led bulbs in 2015 and since then one of them died.

Also used some cheap Chinese led bulbs in garden lights from lazada and replaced several of them after few months use.

So I would say It depends...

As said above it depends..

I have 2 Lamptan 3 color remote controlled ceiling lights that are fine after 7+ years.

The cheapo Chinese LEDs are often driven too hard to produce as much light as possible resulting in very short life..many times you can add a resistor to reduce the brightness a bit but increase the life a lot.

I just had (I think) a Lampton "3 color remote controlled ceiling light" and two of the colors went out after about three years.

I bought mine from the official shop on Lazada....

And now sods law says mine will fail ☹️

I bought mine from HomePro, and I did not check the spelling. I have about six of them and the others are just fine.

I generally do not cheap out on things that require I get on a ladder...

Heat is the biggest killer of LEDS.

Yes the heat comes from driving them too hard.. better to fit a resistor so they don't get hot in the first place.
