Police in Pattaya were called in the early hours of 22 January, after reports that a foreign tourist was walking naked along Pattaya Beach, causing alarm among members of the public. The incident occurred at about 1.00am opposite Soi Beach Road 13/3. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station responded immediately following complaints from witnesses.

At the scene, police found a large number of Thai and foreign tourists gathered along the beach. The man involved was identified as a Norwegian national, who was not named, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Officers noted that his behaviour had already drawn significant attention from nearby beachgoers.

According to police, the tourist had consumed alcohol and smoked cannabis before removing all his clothes. He then walked around the beach area and entered the sea completely naked. Several tourists recorded video footage of the incident, which police later reviewed as evidence.

After being confronted with the recordings, the Norwegian man admitted that he was the person shown in the video. He told officers that he was not aware of his actions at the time and claimed he had no intention of harming anyone. Police said the man’s intoxicated state appeared to be the main factor behind the incident. There were no reports of physical injuries or damage to property as a result of his actions.

As an initial response, police issued the tourist with a formal warning. Officers also clearly instructed him not to repeat any inappropriate behaviour in public areas. The man was informed that stricter legal action would be taken if further complaints were made.

Local police stressed that public nudity and disorderly conduct are offences under Thai law. They reminded visitors that behaviour considered acceptable elsewhere may be illegal in Thailand. Authorities said Pattaya remains committed to maintaining public order and safety for residents and tourists alike.

Police confirmed that no charges were filed following the incident. However, they emphasised that the case remains on record should similar behaviour occur again. Officers continue to monitor tourist areas closely, particularly during late-night hours.

Those pesky Norwegians seems to dominate the news lately. As a matter of national pride I'll expect to seen the regulars to show who got the shirt [off] and take action to gain their turf back

The Thai authorities police ect are to laxed with their putting out heavier penalties for Tourists mis behaving the guy should have been fined

Scandinavian culture has a much more relax attitude towards nakedness than the rest of the world
