Starting to fill this in now before I cross into Laos in a few days . It seems straightforward so far . One of the documents they need is " travel booking confirmation " . I will be travelling by bus from Vientiane to the Friendship bridge on my way back into Thailand, no booking needed, so how to fill this bit in ?

Applying in Vientiane they are likely more interested (if at all) in onward travel out of Thailand. Do you have that? Otherwise write a note outlining your intentions.

Just came from Vientiane with a new non-b-took about 6 business days. Check out the embassy Facebook page because they aren't accepting payments for a bit because of Thai overseas voting. You might want to go to Savanakhet instead -it may be different. If someone else has more info that'd be great. Just an fyi on my part.

I agree that it's the onward trip they're interested in, but I doubt that they'd accept a note nowadays - they probably insist on seeing a ticket out.

Yes for sure, I was thinking of the note for the inward travel, not the onward, I know I didn't express it well.

I arrived by air and I have my return ticket , maybe that would suffice? They must know that coming in from Vientiane over the bridge probably won't need a travel booking. Just out of interest, would they issue a TV without a return ticket 🎟 🤔.

If there is any problem getting the visa, I'm hoping they let me back in VEE - I don't have a long history of staying without visas.

Are you obtaining a SETV or planning to enter Thailand visa exempt.

Write or type on a sheet of paper the following:

Travel booking confirmation:

I will travel to Thailand by bus from Vientiane across the Friendship Bridge on the day I receive the visa. This date is not yet known. No booking is necessary and anyway, I could not buy a ticket because the date and time of travel is uncertain until I receive the visa.

Then scan or photograph this note and upload it.

Incidentally, where the form requires the vehicle number, put a hyphen and you will be able to proceed to the next page.

I'm preparing the TV evisa application and hope to submit it Sunday evening , hopefully I'll get the visa by Friday and come back at the weekend. Depending on what the IO says , and their attitude when leaving, if there's any problem getting the visa , I might be able to come back on VEE . I don't think anyone really knows what the situation is regarding VEE s for sure 🤔.

Hasn't been recent reports re Vientiane. @Tod Daniels may have updates.

With a SETV or even visa, exempt entry, thinking you will be fine.

You will have spent ~ 5 night in Laos.

If hassled with nonsense such as flight out of Thailand then step away and book rent a ticket.
