Shirtless idiots, think they're tough guys! Animals. Deport and ban for 5 years. 💯%

  • The article doesn't say who started the fight. It might have been the American after telling them they would be speaking German if it weren't for him.

Yeah like the USA trying to steal the glory from the USSR

The USSR carried the heaviest fighting in Europe, no question about that, but it did virtually nothing against Japan until August 1945. And do bear in mind, that the Eastern Front wasn’t fought without massive U.S. Lend-Lease support in trucks, fuel, food, and logistics. Regarding the USA "stealing glory" that's a declaration, not an argument. So, if you have evidence, present it. Otherwise it’s just "crying in your beer" rhetoric.

A violent street altercation involving foreign tourists left an American man unconscious in Pattaya in the early hours of 25 January 2026, prompting police intervention and emergency medical treatment. The incident occurred at around 4.30am in Soi Buakhao and drew a crowd of onlookers before officers arrived to restore order.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station were alerted to reports of a fight with injuries and coordinated with volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Foundation to attend the scene. When authorities arrived, they found groups of foreign tourists gathered nearby and confirmed that the injured man, an American national, was lying unconscious on the road. He had swelling and bruising to both eyes and visible facial injuries and was given first aid at the scene.

The confrontation followed a dispute between tourists that escalated into violence. Video footage recorded by a bystander showed a male tourist wearing a black shirt delivering a forceful kick to the American man’s face, causing him to collapse unconsciousness in the middle of the street. The recording later became part of the police inquiry into the incident.

Officers detained three suspects at the scene, all British nationals, and escorted them to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning. Both the suspects and the injured party told investigators that the fight stemmed from an argument and a misunderstanding that spiralled into a physical confrontation. A witness who filmed the incident said the group had earlier exited a beer bar before clashing in front of a hotel, where the kick that knocked the American unconscious occurred amid the chaos.

During the investigation, Pol Lt Col Itthiporn Tangchuthawisap, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Pattaya City Police Station, oversaw mediation between the parties. All involved accepted responsibility for their actions and agreed to reconcile during questioning, reportedly sitting together and embracing to signal an end to the dispute. Police said the resolution was reached amicably without further escalation.

As an initial legal measure, officers issued fines to all tourists involved for fighting in a public place. Each person was fined 1,000 baht before being released, with a formal warning not to repeat such behaviour. Police stressed that public altercations can damage the tourism image and said they would continue to monitor nightlife areas closely to prevent similar incidents.

Key Takeaways

• An American tourist was knocked unconscious during a street fight in Pattaya on 25 January 2026.

• Three British tourists were detained, questioned, and later fined 1,000 baht each for public fighting.

• Police mediated a reconciliation and warned that such incidents harm tourism.

3 on 1 and kicking him when he's down real brave tough guys . What garbage but that's mostly what's out over there at 4:30 am

How quick you are to assume it’s the American at fault! You sound like a typical Democrat!

I was on a tangent, someone brought the "you'd be speaking German" them; I was not remarking on the fight.

I'm sure it was wonderful

1000 BAHT FINE AND RELEASED ?!?!!?!

Bloody hell thats about the price of a pint of beer in London these days. No wonder it feels lawless out there.

It appears to me that it’s mostly Brits involved in confrontations not Americans! I’d like to see some data to support that too! Regardless 3 against 1 no matter who was at fault is cowardly!

Enough said!

There is something very wrong with British society at the moment. Social media has radicalised them, violence is rotten to the chore .... i really think they're just a spoilt society, who have everything handed to them that they literally don't know what they have.

Seen it happen so many times, a snarky comment made to alcohol infused folk, always ends up the same way. The fines are inadequate to expect them to learn and change their behaviour. They should be made examples of, especially for kicking somebody who’s on the ground. They’re lucky they’re not on a murder charge. Unfortunately not a good example of zero tolerance for bad behaviour by tourists from plod. They should have all been expelled from the country, instead of being allowed to go out again and boast to their mates about how tough they are and risk the same thing happening again.

Gees. have a look at the tattoos on the arms and legs of those bovva boys in the back of the police truck on their way to the station.

The tattooed one is the American who was kicked unconscious. I guess you judged the book by it's cover.

A kick in the head like that amounts to attempted murder! Ban the <deleted> for life!

You do know that this thread is about a street fight in Pattaya and not about perceived national characteristics prompted by stereotypes?

I think you wandered a little off topic, OR was just looking to provoke a bunch of responses from angry British people.

I think it’s called trolling.

Nah, it´s just telling it like it is.

Admittedly, at my age I can't afford to let someone get up again.

Regarding the Vietnam WAR, last time I checked, we left in 1973 with a peace deal, then our Congress said no more fighting. In 1975, I saw ARVN surrendering...so, not sure what lib media is lying to you, but it is a FACT, that the NVA could never defeat Americans when they were there and the 1972 TeT offensives proved that. So, explain your surrender to the Japanese in SGP without a fight...before you criticize Americas ok Brit.

It does make you wonder why the Americans get themselves into wars, they clearly are terrible at it.

White trash idiocy. If the police were doing their jobs, this wouldn't be a news item. This is what Pattaya tolerates, as the insignificant 1000 baht fines demonstrate. The unfortunate aspect of this is that the decent people who live in the Pattaya region get tarred by these events.

What a nonsense statement you made,"White trash idiocy. If the police were doing their jobs, this wouldn't be a news item",.

Reason1; What has the colour of the skin got to do with anything?

Reason 2: It occurred a 4am and my guess it lasted 5 mins to 10mins at most Do you expect to have cops on every block at that time of day?

What country are you from.? Is it China as it has massive numbers of cops there who like to watch tourists and citizens alike 24/7. By the way Chinese cops are mainly on duty to find spies or reporters

The people who were involved are from a socio economic group referred to as chavs or lager louts or white trash. Who other than idiots gets into a brawl in a foreign land like this? 3 yobs on one guy. Yes, if the police were doing their jobs, opportunistic incidents would be a rarity, not a common event. It is a busy nightlife area and there is often a public disturbance. The police in the tourist destinations are rarely seen on patrol after dark. One of the reasons why the Chinese visitor numbers are down is because of Thailand's image as a lawless, unsafe destination. This type of event does not help.

It is not about demanding Chinese style surveillance. The sad reality is that Thailand allows some of the world's scum to enter and does not take the measures needed to manage the scum. A 1000 baht fine is not a deterrent, nor a penalty. It's an afternoon's worth of drinking to these fools.

I am referring to the UK, where people live with the belief, they were the ones who did it. The rest of the world knows it was a combined effort.

That is not what people in the UK believe, you are either sadly misinformed or trolling

don't see the issue, they are obviously integrating into the local culture

That also means the British lost those wars as well 🤣

No Brits in Vietnam.

Going out in a nightlife area is usually (well, always) a search for companionship of a romantic or sexual nature.

IMHO if a guy is still out and about at 4:30 and either in the company of his "mates" or all by his lonesome, his evening has been a failure.

Getting in to a fight at that point does not save the evening.

You clearly know very little about “people” in the UK. How could you when you don’t live there and clearly fail to understand that the majority of British “people” weren’t even born in 1945.

But you are doing a good job of baiting by insulting a nationality about events that occurred 80years ago. Not such a good job on discussing a street fight in Pattaya in 2026.
