Sometimes a beating is needed to teach people right from wrong. The West's answer to disrespectful behaviour is a slap on the wrist, this doesn't work.

Typical Thai fighting... many to one. THais can't fight man to man it is always 2 , 3 or more against one victim. And this dispute could not be fixed by talking?? Violence is normal in land of smiles.

Why is it so hard for people to pay their bills?

This American dude should know that he cannot pull that crap in the States. It will not end well for him.

They should just shut down Soi 6, it's full of the lowest dreggs of society, foreign and Thai's.

Why, becuase some <deleted>hol did not pay his bill?

So, did he "forget to pay for the ST"??? and did he try to run away??? And when they caught up to him, did he pulll the I am an American and can fight crap....and then found out he was not in Kansas anymore.....

There is more to this story....you really have to piss off these guards for them to beat you....

As an American, I run into these guys back home all day, every day....and they usually end up in the hospital after messing with security guards at clubs.

Next time pay for your ST/Drink bill and leave and Respect this country....you are a guest.

Some people here obviously sit down then they pee.

This guy was shown pulling a runner on his bill and got exactly what he deserves. Those guards rarely attack for no reason. They're aware of the impact this can have on business there. Soi 6 is an adult playground where, if you play nicely, a great time can be had and lasting memories made.

I'm generally not a betting man but I would bet my bottom dollar this idiot will never try pulling such a runner again.

Your missing the point Happy 3-4 guards on 1 falang and kicking hin while he is is on the floor. Normal for security ?

This stuff goes viral and it's so damning for Thailand. People that have never been here assume that this is kind of normal.

Similar sketchy stuff happens in the Philippines all the time and it is fairly normal. To get pounced on by a bunch of jealous Filipino men. It's one of many things that have ruined their reputation of the country for travel.

YouTube videos are forever and this stuff does not paint Thailand in a good light. Nevertheless, it's very true and it very much happened

So speaks the woke lefties. Reward for doing right 😱 that is just normal behaviour 🤷🏼 This is why the world is f****d too many bleeding heart do gooders. Fear deters you from doing anything wrong not rewarding just because you do right

You aren't supposed to fear but respect your parents. You show violence, you're teaching that it's the answer to problems, and as we've seen in history, violence isn't working. Self defense of course. To protect family or self definitely. And this has nothing to do with lefties. I'm in the middle , and see things as they are unbiased. The more you reward good behavior, instead of taking it for granted, the more likely that individual will keep doing it.

It doesn't matter if it was 1 or 100 - this idiot asked for what he got.

The most clear case of "sum num na" I've seen in a long time.

Wonder if you would accept it if it was you getting kicked senseless on the floor. If it was Falangs kicking a thai on the floor would you say the same he desrved it ?

This is such a common topic on this forum, it would seem that these bouncers don't have any training in de-escalation, and seem to have just a bit too much adrenaline. Lock them up.

With the usual kicking while down as they haven't a clue how to use hands. I've seen violence towards children since I came here, with mothers carrying sticks with them to keep their kids in line. Thankfully the west has laws against this.

When you say, "Thankfully the west has laws against this" I disagree when I was young in Australia back in the 60's 70's (Baby boomer) I deserved the rod and physi9cal punishment. It taught me to respect elders, especially teachers.

After that I studied hard and made GOOD money.

Nowadays the kids have NO RESPECT! They become thieves and end up useless or dead.

Mainly because of absent parents, or those that spoil them and allow bad behavior to go unchecked. Here, over 35% of children are raised by grandparents, who allow a lot of behavior to go unchecked, such as driving scooters at age 8 with no helmets. Not all, but many are very old and can't keep up with children, especially teens who also have missing parents.

I was only hit a couple of times by my dad, and I only spanked two children once or twice, the others none. They all grew up with respect towards authority and elders, along with animals. They did get into a little trouble like most other teens, but not from disrespect. In the US, if you are caught hitting a child with any weapon, you'll pay for it.

Here it's done all the time, also with my ex, who hit her children, along with my daughter, and I warned her against it. There's a difference between spanking on the butt when they're out of hand, and carrying a stick knowing you'll use it, as you already have before. It can get out of hand with the weapon, leaving bruises, and is the reason some parents are jailed in the US. Here, the lack of care for children is obvious, so corporal punishment is a given, with many school teachers still using it, even though it's been outlawed. Again, it teaches them to hit others.

It appears you are generally agreeing with what I am saying? Me thinks!

It also has a lot to do with the parent. Can they separate punishment from their own anger, and not go overboard? A hand is all anyone would need, and on the butt. I've seen both sides. Kids going wild after being hit and obeying, and kids going wild not being hit but left to their own devices because the parents weren't available. My ex hit her other daughters and also ours, with a hangar, and that how she is, very violent, and learned it from her parents. She also hit me because she was mad at someone else two times, which shows that violence is within her and doesn't come out to discipline but hurt and control.

American Tourist Responds After Pattaya Guard Assault

An American tourist was attacked on Pattaya Soi 6, leading to the questioning of three security guards by local police. The incident occurred on the evening of February 2 and was captured in a viral video showing the tourist being repeatedly kicked and punched. The altercation has sparked a mix of reactions online, with the 31-year-old U.S. national filing a report claiming he was assaulted over a payment dispute at a local bar.

The tourist, who had been drinking at the bar, claimed the argument with bar security emerged over a 780 baht payment issue. The situation escalated into violence when several guards reportedly attacked him. Police have identified and questioned guards aged 30, 43, and 22, with a fourth suspect still unaccounted for. The guards asserted that the tourist refused to pay his bill despite their attempts to resolve the transaction.

The guards stated that they followed the tourist when he left towards the beach to retrieve the payment, leading to the physical confrontation seen in the video. They acknowledged that the situation had gotten out of hand but maintained that the tourist was the initial aggressor. In contrast, the tourist presented a bank transfer slip, suggesting the drinks were already paid for, attributing the conflict to an unresolved issue with the staff.

Pattaya police are mediating the matter under Thailand’s Dispute Mediation Act. Should mediation fail, the case will proceed to court. Authorities have assured that the investigation will be conducted with fairness and transparency.

The situation follows a similar incident where three British men attacked an American on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya following a bar dispute. Both parties in that matter resolved it by each paying a 1,000 baht fine, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • An American tourist was allegedly attacked by security guards after a bar dispute in Pattaya.

  • The incident, captured on video, is under police mediation, with assurances of transparency.

  • A similar brawl involving British and American nationals recently occurred over a bar conflict in Pattaya.

Ok, if this is true, then the pack of guards just wanted to beat up someone.

Probably true as there is not many other reasons apart from a low basic wage to take such a boring job.

Beating up one or two strangers must add some spice to their lives!

You do understand is only one very small soi in Pattaya?

It being closed would have hardly any impact, with exception of the dregs drinking elsewhere one would assume.

It certainly does appear as if the security guards were rather "over zealous" on this occasion

Yeah, unfortunately we see this too often. Unfortunately, it takes very little in Thailand before they take to violence. Everything gets heated very quick, and it might be fists, kicks, knifes, guns or whatever they have available, and just use first without thinking of any consequences. Neither for the victim nor for themselves. Just a great lack of critical thinking.

But otherwise the country is great :-)

It's all a misunderstanding.

The problem is with this certain company's bars on Soi 6, their music is too loud.

Customer: "Check bin."

Staff: "What you say. I can't hear you."

Customer: "I can't hear you. What you say."

Staff: "I can't hear you."

Customer moves to go outside where he can hear.

Staff calls on security thinking he's leaving without paying.

All could have been avoided if the music volume was at a reasonable level. 😂

Pay as you get served, and let the server know you are not running a bill, anytime she brings you drinks, a bargirl drink, a drink for your mate, pay up right then. It saves you from the bar padding hassles.

Might even save you from getting beat up by meth-head (ya-baa) bouncers.

It is news when ONLY four Thais attack a farang instead of the normal 8. It is news when all four of the assailants had the same complaint - an unpaid bill. Often the gang attack is swollen by a number of passing Thais who whale in simply because they see a farang on the ground.

It is a pretty standard practice in the developing world. That's how street justice works.

This Western idea that the criminal should square up with one person and have a "fair" fight is just stupid.

Bull. These grubby drunken louts lose track of time and forget how much they are drinking. And then have a hissy fit when it's time to pay.

Yes, I expect that is a lot of it! Forget they gave a nod when asked to buy a tray of LDs and have to now pay for them.

The bar tab is a game between the Bar and the customer. Especially in the Pattaya bars. A good example I had with one that was not on Beach road. The bar assumed i was a newbie and appeared as a good target to hit.

Firstly, a bar girl asked me to play pool. I said sure, But i do not buy drinks for the winner nor do I shout drinks unless I clearly say so and it will be a beer only. No mixed drinks You know the ones where they say it has the most expensive spirit and yet in reality only has juice and ice and they pop it on your bin tab as fast as superman and skull it in a microsecond so you cannot taste it.

I played pool with this bar lady. I play good pool. Beat her every time. Then knowing she was not going to win a drink, and the music was load she spoke to me in a soft voice and gave me a thumbs up of which I assumed she congratulated me on winning another game to which I replied with a thumbs up.

Within a minute she wa at the bar pouring herself one of those so called spirit mixes. Plus she took the paper out of the cheque bin and wrote on it. being not a stupid regular I looked ar what she wrote and it was a charge for a 350 Bah drink. She saw me and sculled that drink. I told her I am not paying for that and asked her why she did that he said I gave a thumbs up.

I told her I.m leaving now .Will not return to this place and dropped money at the table to pay for my two beers only.

The moral of the story is be upfront with them at the beginning and do not get too pissed where you start losing the plot. You need eyes at the back of your head.
