Men over 50 who have not had a relationship in 5 years are unlikely to enter a romantic relationship, but not impossible.

Recent data indicates that among U.S. adults aged 50 and older, a significant portion are not interested in dating or romantic relationships. A 2024 study by TheSeniorList found that only about one in three older singles (50+) are open to dating, with many citing trust issues, anxiety about meeting strangers, past traumatic experiences, or prioritizing family and career over romance.

Among those who have never been in a relationship, the likelihood of forming one later in life is low but not zero. A 2020 Pew Research Center analysis projected that one in four (25%) of today’s young adults will remain single their entire lives by age 50, and this trend is mirrored in older age groups. For men over 50 who have not had a romantic relationship in five years, the chances of entering one are diminished, especially if they are not actively seeking it.

Anybody over 50 here can find a good relationship if they're sufficiently motivated and if they are financially stable. That is not the case in America or in Europe anymore, unless they're willing to be with a very, very old and unappealing woman.

I think the worst experience of all for him was when he thought he was picking up a ladyboy on Beach Road and it turned out to be a woman after he was already balls deep. It completely did his head in. Hard to say whether he will ever recover from the trauma of that truly horrific ordeal. If only he had checked under the hood first, none of this would have happened.

I'm thinking most of the people here are on the left, a little, and some more on the right, a little,with the rest like me in the middle.

I also think most here have a woman, myself included, and are only here because of that, at least until some of us go back to our native country or inhabit another , at least for awhile.

I know I'm not crazy, and from what I've seen here for years, most aren't either. Eccentric a little, but that's a good part of a character, as it makes you an individual, as well as more interesting and healthier minded. A few choice characters here are definitely out there, but I won't name names, even though we're all aware of them.

Thinking what I say here is drivel has me see you aren't what I thought you were. Goes to show appearances can be deceptive, at least for awhile. This is one reason I never ignore anyone, as I like to see their true colors reveal themselves over time. Sadly, they'll never improve, as they're already into their middle ages and beyond. Most American women are working. Some do take advantage of the system and stay home, even while capable of work,. This is why they are changing the terms, where a person who can work has to for a certain amount of hours to receive benefits, even with children, at least until retirement age.

Employment these days depends on qualifications, not gender or race. A job isn't welfare as you earn your pay. If you need to stay home for little ones and have an absent husband or non working one, you deserve help as those children need it.

Divorce settlements can be 50/50, although it all depends what you accrued during the marriage. A woman isn't usually going to get things you brought into the marriage. It does happen, but that would mean the judge isn't following the law.

Not being able to develop a relationship has nothing to do with age. Although many as they age, refuse to compromise on their way of living, so finding a match may be a bit more challenging.

I've always been that way, and why relationships didn't last long, or I just couldn't match up with one, that didn't agree with my 'free spirit' Try finding a gal that will accept someone who only wants to work 2 or 3 days a week, and leaves home for a week at a time, while she's working a normal 9-5 job 5 days a week, and you actually prefer to work double shifts on weekends.

You come home after a shift, fire up the bbq, and crack a beer, as she's going out the door at 0730 to work.

Almost impossible to disagree. Wives and girlfriends are such bad value for money when compared to the pay per serving plan. Plus, no need to pay for maintenance and repairs when you are on the pay as you go method.

It's like when you lease a brand new car on a two-year lease, nothing can go wrong with it in such a short time period.

Unless you look at it from their perspective. I'm also sure an STD, which is almost guaranteed if you're doing this wholesale, can be quite hard to deal with, especially the ones that don't go away and could kill you. Also, if you aren't thinking about the fact the woman you're having sex with has had it numerous times, with numerous partners, some going into the thousands, but yes, some don't really care about that fact and are only interested in themselves and that 10 minutes of their own pleasure.
