Teacher Arrested for Exploiting Students for Explicit Content

Featured Replies

A computer teacher in Chon Buri has been arrested for coercing male students into creating explicit content. The teacher, named Nonthawat, 27, targeted mostly 14-year-old boys, promising them 10,000 baht for the videos, but later refused to pay and threatened them instead. This incident was confirmed by Pol Gen Thatchai Pitaneelaboot of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Centre during a briefing.

Nonthawat, employed at a secondary school in the Ko Chan district, used an anonymous online account to communicate with the students. The students were manipulated into sending nude photos and videos under the false promise of payment. After obtaining the materials, the teacher threatened the students, demanding 5,000 baht each or coerced them into having sex to prevent the circulation of their videos online.

During the police investigation, authorities discovered approximately 1,500 video files in Nonthawat’s possession. These files documented the illicit activities involving the teacher and his victims. Nonthawat confessed to the accusations, revealing a pattern of abuse spanning over five years, involving around 100 victims since his university days.

Experts express concern about the scale and duration of the exploitation. The police emphasized the importance of safeguarding children against digital exploitation and the need for stricter monitoring in educational environments. This case highlights the vulnerability of minors online and the manipulation tactics employed by offenders.

Moving forward, authorities will focus on supporting the victims and preventing similar incidents. Efforts will include educational campaigns about online safety and strict oversight on digital communication between students and teachers. The legal action against Nonthawat will proceed, aiming to deliver justice for the victims.

Key Takeaways

  • A teacher was arrested for exploiting young male students for explicit content.

Kids are always going to have sex. What's wrong with this one is the abuse of power by someone in authority who is supposed to be an trusted elder.

And the blackmail, and rape.

I was expecting the suspect to be a foreigner

A very special kind of penalty should be laid upon those who inflict such horrors on young boys. I would suggest the death penalty, as his crime is of such a heinous nature and a person like this teacher is of absolutely no use to society on any level.

His parents failed miserably.

Because Thailand only uses the death penalty for murder and drug trafficking, and even then, most sentences are commmuted.

Throughout the world it seems to me that the art of parenting is lost, and children are just simply not being given very much guidance, nor are they being instilled with a sense of ethics or morality. If not from the parents where does that come from?

That's an interesting question.

I was recently in a group of people that was discussing a person breaking a religious dietary prohibition.

The person ate the proscribed food unknowingly and was still feeling as if he had committed a "sin".

There was an 8 year old boy in the group who expressed the opinion that it couldn't be a sin because the person didn't know he was breaking the rule.

So where did the boy get that from?

I don't know if he was explicitly taught that you have to know you are doing a wrong thing for it be wrong.

That's an age old intellectual argument that ignorance somehow forgives the sin. I don't buy into that, if you mindlessly murder a group of people and then say well I did it because I didn't think it was wrong, does that somehow make it more right? No, I does not.

A reasonably powerful intellect can always come up with 100 ways to justify any position, but that doesn't change reality and that doesn't affect truth one iota.

Underage sex and abuse throughout rural Thailand is crazy common. I had a neighbour that cared for their grandchildren, one boy and his girlfriend had 2 kids, they were about 14/15, it's no uncommon.

Yes, sadly, very common in Thailand.

Some dudes get off on being corn holed. Probably a few closeted ones right here on this board, with an infertile old hag as a 'beard'.

I know you have a high opinion of yourself but you didn't understand the example.

It wasn't that the person didn't know it was wrong.

It was that they did the thing without knowing they did it.

It matters what kind of transgression it is.

Some you could not do without knowing you had done it

Your example compares murdering a group of people to committing a ritual offense; that is a silly comparison.

But I doubt you will be able to see that with your attitude standing in the way.
