The people who are affected are the people who like to get out and about for a drink, not those who prefer paying shop prices and sit at home. But somebody has to come out with that nonsensical drivel

Then get a few in the day before and go and drink it outdoors somewhere, its not compulsory to sit in the house,

The traditional site is the 7-11 parking lot.

I remember that, and deep fried jumbo shrimp was the norm at our house. And we weren't even religious. Actually looked forward to Fridays. Lots of flounder & cod fishcakes.

The item on the pope's head used to be known to satirists as the fish-head mitre. If you ever see a photo of him / one of them have a look. Perhaps you didn't take history at school.

What on earth are you wittering on about ? did you start drinking early today or are you still at it from last night ?

And no , of course I did not take history at school, why would I ? why would anybody?

I just stated a few facts in reply to your other nasty and ignorant post.

As regards alcohol, following cancer treatment I have had very little of it in two years and not too much in the two years before that.

I don't want anything banned for the day, just pointing out the illogical focus on alcohol coffee1

Exceptions exist for international airport terminals, hotels, and entertainment venues in popular tourist areas, allowing them to sell alcohol under specific conditions.

Not quite: it is anywhere that has applied for and successfully been granted an entertainment license.

Then why are you whinging them?

Show me where I have whinged. I just tire of the repetitive sneers at drinkers whenever there is a dry holiday. Even when they are not as dry as they used to be.

Is whinging them, correct English.? Do you mean winging.?

I believe that it was originally decreed by a Pope in support of the elite fishing fleet owners seeking a secure income and probably a deposit in an offshore account.

Yes, I accidently pressed the 'M' key, thank you for correcting my English while using an unnecessary comma and full stops in front of your question marks. 😵‍💫

Not an unnecessary comma at all. And as for the full points as we used to call them in the long distant past when I was a compositor, well to explain. It was necessary at times to use visual letter spacing and I cannot lose the habit, without space the question mark to my eyes is too close to the preceding character and letter spacing is not possible on here. Simple really.

I started a sentence above with And, unforgivable I know.

The comma was unnecessary because there is nor reason for a pause where you used it, nor was there a clause that needed separating.

If you think that the comma was necessary, please explain it's use within your sentence.

I cannot lose the habit

Then don't get pedantic and question a mere spelling mistake when you can't use the English language correctly yourself.

Even in your explanation your grammar sucks.

You use a full stop after 'well to explain', when a comma would have been correct.

You really are in no position to question my English, when you do not know how to structure a sentence.
