Tourist Attacked in Walking Street Pattaya Brawl

Featured Replies

A video showing a violent altercation involving Thai men and ladyboys attacking a foreign tourist on Walking Street in Pattaya has sparked widespread criticism online. The incident reportedly occurred at around 05.00 on 7 March 2026 on Walking Street in South Pattaya, Chon Buri.

The footage was posted on Facebook by a user named “stang stang”, who criticised those involved and claimed the foreign tourist had not provoked the attack. In the clip, a Thai man is seen kicking a foreign male tourist in the chin, causing him to fall to the ground on the street.

A woman believed to be travelling with the foreign man, attempts to protect him during the confrontation. The situation quickly turns chaotic before motorcycle taxi riders intervene and shout for the attackers to stop.

Shortly afterwards, the foreign man and woman appear to argue among themselves, prompting bystanders and other tourists to try to separate them. However, the situation escalates again when a group of around four to five ladyboys reportedly surround and assault the foreign woman, leaving her visibly injured before dispersing in different directions.

The person recording the video also captured several of those involved laughing and smiling after the incident, appearing unconcerned about what had occurred. Additional footage circulating online appears to show a man dressed similarly to a nightclub security guard joining the scuffle and kicking the tourist during the altercation.

Reporters later visited the scene to gather further information about the incident and attempted to contact the person who originally posted the video, but were unable to reach them. During the daytime visit, nearby entertainment venues were closed, and people in the area said they were unaware of the incident.

The clip has since been widely shared across several popular social media pages, prompting heavy criticism from viewers who described the behaviour as inappropriate and damaging to Thailand’s tourism image.

Police at Pattaya City Police Station confirmed they are currently investigating the incident and gathering information about what happened. As of now, the foreign man and woman seen in the video have not filed a formal complaint with authorities. Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the confrontation, and it remains unclear what led to the initial dispute captured in the footage.

The guy looked so drunk that he could barely stand up straight. I doubt it was unprovoked. He probably did sth stupid.

But still, a gaggle of ladyboys attacking a woman is a new low.

Most fights are between ladyboys and Indians..

Either Indians need to be banned from Pattaya, or Ladyboys need to be banned from Pattaya.

Then result of late entertainment opening hours and the lack of enforcements by the RTP. The ladyboys are a real pain in the .a,, but the RTP let them do all the time.. a fine a warning and it is over... Put them in jail for a year.. there they can have fun and make problems...and probably they will behave better( or not if they liked the jailterm) but the problem is solved as long as they are of the street.

And why wait for a formal complaint of the couple.. The netizens are worried about the reputation of Pattaya, that is a reason enough to arrest them and throw in jail. It is not the first time they make problems. Show the tourists that something really is done to protect them

Walking Street is becoming brawling street. As has been already been pointed out, there is no police presence. The most effective deterrence of trouble would be a uniformed police presence. However, that would require the cops to walk a beat, and Thai people seem reluctant to walk. If Thailand wants to promote itself as a safe and upscale destination, it needs to create a safe ambiance, and Pattaya, Patong, Chalong et al are a long way off from that.

I was on walking street several years ago.

Seems like there were quite a few "tourist police" on patrol there, including some farangs working for tourist police. Has the city of pattaya cut back on its police budget?

Given the high number of incidents, there should be police nearby.

They were farang voluntary police assisting with translation etc .

Probably never came back after covid .

The Thai POS who aimed then delivered that kick should be arrested and charged. I suspect he is a security guard in the area. It seems the slightest excuse is all they need. Where are the police ffs

Just pay a dirty cop to throw the guard in jail. Thai people with money don't take chit from poor people, which is why you never see or hear about a security guard raising a hand against a Thai with even a middle class income. The foreigners need to open their wallets and let the WS scum know that tourists will use their money to similar effect.

A gang of blokes in frocks attack one woman. You can't get much lower than that. I've seen several reports during my time here of women and elderly men being beaten up by gangs of locals. I notice a nightclub doorman was involved in the beat up of the guy. What a surprise. Nice to see the motorbike taxi riders attempting to stop the beating, they usually join in!

Indeed they were swinging in hard. As for the girl at 1.51 it is a good thing it was her left knocker- if it had been the other she would have been accused of making a right tit of herself!

The heading to this article makes it appears that they just attack you for no reason. Listen, anyone who lives here will confirm that Ladyboys or Thais will not attack you, unless you provoke them or get into a situation with them that pisses them off.

I live here and have never been attacked by the locals, never.

Respect this culture or go home.

Literally about the 5th or 6th video I've seen in as many days of people getting bashed on walking street.

What a dump.

Almost any city in the world at 5:00 is not a safe place to be. Dregs of society are out and about and maybe a stock broker or two doing their early morning run

Looking for an early breakfast ...

Close it down at 1am and eliminate a lot of incidents like this.
