Trump says Iran at fault for strike on girls school

President Donald Trump on Saturday denied U.S. involvement in a strike that killed more than 165 people at a girls’ elementary school in Southern Iran, instead placing the blame on Iran.

When asked aboard Air Force One Saturday whether the U.S. conducted the Feb. 28 strike, Trump said, without evidence, “No, in my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, standing next to the president, took a more cautious tone, saying the government is still “investigating” the attack but adding, “The only side that targets civilians is Iran.”

https://www.politico.com/news/2026/03/07/trump-iran-girls-school-strike-00818163

Even Hegseth uttered what was a non-denial denial.

Exclusive: US investigation points to likely US responsibility in Iran school strike, sources say

U.S. military investigators believe it is likely that U.S. forces were responsible for an apparent strike on an Iranian girls' school that killed scores of children on Saturday but have not yet reached a final conclusion or completed their investigation, ‌two U.S. officials told Reuters...

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military matters, did not rule out the possibility that new evidence could emerge that absolves the U.S. of responsibility and points to another responsible party in the incident.

Reuters could not determine how much longer the investigation would last or what evidence U.S. investigators are seeking before the assessment can be completed.

Evidence suggests the deadly blast at an Iranian school was likely a US airstrike

Satellite images and videos of an Iranian girls school damaged by large explosions at the start of a U.S.-Israeli airstrike campaign targeting the Islamic Republic indicate a targeted attack from the air hit the building

March 6, 2026

Washington Post via https://archive.ph/L4nsI#selection-241.0-300.0

Sean Moorhouse, a former British Army officer and explosive ordnance disposal expert, said the available satellite imagery was insufficient to determine exactly what type of munitions were used in the strike, but he said the visible damage was consistent with what would be expected with impacts from multiple 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) high-explosive warheads. He said the multiple precise impacts would undercut any suggestion that a malfunctioning Iranian missile hit the school.

N.R. Jenzen-Jones, the director of Armament Research Services, said the school and Guard compound were targeted with “multiple simultaneous or near-simultaneous strikes.”

“If indeed it is confirmed that an American or Israeli strike hit the school, there are several potential points of failure in the targeting cycle,” Jenzen-Jones said. “We might be seeing an intelligence failure, likely rather early in the process, which misidentified the target or failed to update a targeting list following the building’s change in use.”

With a topic as emotionally charged as this, I think it’s important that we avoid jumping to "pre-emptive" conclusions until credible, independently verified information is available.

Discussions like this can easily spiral into speculation, and that rarely helps the families of victims or anyone seeking clarity.

That said, if future investigations were ever to confirm that the US was directly responsible for the incident, then a serious question naturally follows:

Who would be the appropriate figure to issue a formal apology to the families of the victims?

This is a hypothetical question at this stage, but an important one, because accountability, when warranted, should be clear, direct, and delivered by the correct authority.

For now, though, the responsible thing for everyone is to wait for verified facts rather than assumptions.

The families deserve truth, not speculation!

It's always difficult to know what MAGA supporters mean by "the left" since it usually signifies everyone who doesn't toe the MAGE line. What is clear is that you've stated an utter falsehood. I'll be charitable and surmise that you don't actually bother to read or watch media sites from what you call the left, So your claims are due to ignorance.

What happened at the protests in Iran?

Protests erupted in Iran on 28 December 2025. People across the country, outraged at decades of repression, were demanding fundamental change and a political system that respects human rights and dignity. Iranian authorities have responded with an unprecedented deadly crackdown and, since 8 January 2026, cut all internet access to conceal their crimes. Security forces have used unlawful force, firearms and other prohibited weapons, against protesters, which resulted in mass killings and serious injuries.

Verified videos and eyewitness accounts gathered by Amnesty International show that security forces positioned on the streets and on the rooftops of buildings, including houses, mosques and police stations, have repeatedly fired rifles and shotguns loaded with metal pellets at protesters, frequently targeting their heads and torsos. Evidence gathered by Amnesty International reveals that security forces involved in the deadly crackdown include the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including its Basij battalions and various divisions of Iran’s police force, known by its Persian acronym FARAJA, as well as plain-clothes agents.

Disappeared bodies, mass burials and ‘30,000 dead’: what is the truth of Iran’s death toll?

Testimony from medics, morgue and graveyard staff reveals huge state effort to conceal systematic killing of protesters

Their observations, shared with the Guardian and combined with accounts from morgues and graveyards across the country, begin to reveal the vast scale of violence inflicted on Iranians during the state’s crackdown. Ahmadi and his colleagues are hesitant to provide a figure for the toll but agree “all publicly cited death tolls represent a severe underestimation”. Comparing the number of dead they witnessed with hospital baselines, they estimate it could exceed 30,000, far surpassing official figures. This is based on the conclusion that “officially registered deaths related to the crackdown likely represent less than 10% of the real number of fatalities”.

How Iran Crushed a Citizen Uprising With Lethal Force

In Tehran, the capital of Iran, security forces opened fire at protesters from the roof of a police station. In Karaj, they fired live rounds into a march, shooting one person in the head. In Isfahan, young men barricaded themselves in an alley as gunfire and explosions rang out.

Scattered protests had percolated since late December, starting with a strike in Tehran’s bazaar and fueled by a plunging economy. But by early January, Iranians had revolted en masse, and the security forces began to crack down with deadly force.

He's a complete idiot, ignorant on so many matters: world affairs, the environment, history, science. His only skill is, or rather was, oratory, persuading the gullible of his words.

None of this would matter if he had no power, just another loony shouting from the rooftops. Tragically he's the most powerful man in the world at the moment, and as his actions in the Middle-East show, he doesn't know what he's doing. Did he intend to shut down all the oil production from the Gulf states, creating inflation worldwide? Did he really understand the consequences of his actions?

And to add to his stupidity is his inability to ever admit he is wrong, a malignant narcissist of the worst order.

Donald Trump was hit hard on Saturday by a former GOP leader over the president's conduct during the "dignified transfer" of the six soldiers killed in the war in Iran.

Critics pounced after Trump stood with his "head unbowed" during the solemn ceremony to honor the deceased soldiers. Numerous observers pointed out the president's decision to wear a white golf hat during the long-running tradition that was broadcast in silence on CNN.

That point about the hat also wasn't missed by former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, who now hosts his own show on MS NOW.

Taking to X, Steele wrote, "This fool has ABSOLUTELY no sense of dignity or appreciation for the moment."

"It is called the Dignified Transfer for a reason," the ex-GOP insider added over the weekend. He then simply demanded, "Take your damn hat off!!"

So why is the usa economy doing well?

I'm trying to think if I've ever been exposed to anyone in this lifetime who is more repulsive than that gutter beast.

Trump does not deserve his name on a plastic outhouse, much less the Kennedy Center. He has done absolutely nothing to deserve this honor, and self honoring oneself is not exactly considered an act of nobility.

How to attract enemies, diminish influence, ruin prestige, and alienate allies.

That should be the new Trump motto. Or Don the Destroyer.

On a daily basis this man demonstrates additional levels of goonery, clown like behavior, and utter absurdness. What an incredibly sad and pathetic example of the human species he is. Americans should be recoiling in horror at this demonstration of self aggrandizement, certainly the world is looking on with astonishment at the shame he is bringing upon a nation that used to be fairly great, but has descended into a land of chaos, mass murders, political division, shootings, criminality, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, silly levels of real inflation, and diminished influence.

The honor and the pride is completely gone, right out the window. Trump is trashing everything America used to stand for.

Is it doing well? Most Americans don't seem happy about it. Republican legislators are running scared because of it. But even if that were the case, what has Trump done that has helped the economy. His tariffs were supposed to increase manufacturing employment.. Instead it continues to fall. In 2005 the US economy created on 15,000 jobs per month on average. Business people are delaying expanding investment because they have no clue as to whether Trump will zig or zag from day to day. And even if the economy was doing well, is that "because of" or "despite"?

I think the most responsible thing is to never, ever give Donald Trump the benefit of the doubt, and to always assume he is guilty. And we are now seeing that his bizarre and deeply unqualified SEC DEF is actually a ruthless, cold-blooded, sadistic drunkard killer.
