A foreign man was filmed kicking a spa owner's dog in Da Nang, Vietnam, resulting in three broken ribs for the animal and sparking widespread outrage. Surveillance footage captures the man kicking the small dog and then leaving the spa, while a companion remains indifferent, scrolling on his phone. The spa owner expressed anger over the March 7 incident and detailed the harm caused to his beloved pet.

The incident occurred when two foreign men entered the spa. No staff were present, leading the pair to wait inside. One man suddenly got up and kicked the Pomeranian, sending it crashing into the door, resulting in broken ribs that must heal naturally due to the dog's small size. The owner described the pet as a cherished family member, now in pain and frightened.

The video of the incident has circulated widely online, prompting calls for accountability. Many social media users, both Vietnamese and foreign, have expressed outrage and demanded legal action. In Vietnam, pets are considered property, and cruelty towards them can lead to fines. The two men involved are believed to be foreign tourists speaking Chinese, according to local inquiries.

An expatriate, Andrei Vialkov, shared the video in a Da Nang Facebook group, labeling it as animal cruelty. Vietnamese law, enacted in 2021, penalizes animal cruelty with fines up to VND3 million ($114) and outlines specific punishments for such actions. The case has highlighted the issue of animal rights in Vietnam and could lead to increased scrutiny or legal repercussions, reported VN Express.
