Racism isn't common on football .

Correct. But some racists do go to football matches, they just know that racism is generally not tolerated any more so they keep it to themselves. Even racists know racism is wrong.

I was a season ticket holder in the 80's and 90's and there were racist songs every week (which I did not partake in).

I got to football now each time I am back in the UK. I don't remember the last time I heard a racist song or racist abuse. It simple isn't acceptable and the difference is these days it WILL be called out. Except for people like Barra or Bday who think it is just playful name calling.

To my knowledge the only seriouse crime lately i can remember by a white was Paul Quinn who Raped a female in 2003 but watched another man do over 17 yrs in Prison for a crime he did not comitt. Greater Manchester Police now are being probed as to how this happened. Maybe you can name a viciouse white man that comitted a murder like this Sikh murderer youravin instead of digging and flaming.

Wow. Barra thinks there has been no serious crime by a white person since 2003.

You expect me to type out the words of a racist song?

Why? What purpose would that serve?

Because I don't recall any racist songs from that era and I just wondered which sone you were referring to .

So, which song was it ?

Could also be that they arent racist anymore ?

You can't have been to many football matches back then then.

It started with "Trigger". And it was revolting.

I've said as much as I am going to say. You're not going to goad me in to it and it is completely and utterly irrelevant anyway - I have absolutely no idea why you are going where you're going.

I did not believe you when you claimed there was racist songs in the 1990's .As you cannot name the song , I think you just made it up .

There wasnt any racists songs in the 1990"s

I gave you all the info you need to go and Google it if you want to.

I was a season ticket holder for several years. You can say it didn't exist if you want to, it is pointless me saying otherwise if you insist on being obstinate. Up to you.

Try harder. But then there's no point because you say I made it up and it doesn't exist. I probably wasn't even a season ticket holder for years in the late 80s/early 90s. I probably don't even like football.

My God this is painful. And completely irrelevant to any point anyone has made, and way off topic. But it's just Nick being Nick.

There is a serious point to be made about public perception, and how that is shaped by the media they ingest. There are hundreds of life sentences each year handed down in just England, let alone the UK.

I think we are all agreed that whole life orders represent the most heinous crimes. Only a few of these are awarded each year. There are currently about 70 people serving whole life orders. A list of some of them:

  • Rosemary West

  • Levi Bellfield

  • Stephen Griffiths

  • Mark Hobson

  • Joanna Dennehy

  • Reynhard Sinaga

  • Lucy Letby

  • Lawrence Bierton

  • Brian Whitelock

  • Damien Bendall

  • Roy Whiting

  • Mark Bridger

  • Thomas Hughes

  • Mick Philpott

  • Michael Adebolajo

  • Michael Adebowale

  • Thomas Mair

  • Khairi Saadallah

  • Ali Harbi Ali

  • Wayne Couzens

  • Louis De Zoysa

  • Marcus Osborne

  • Steven Sansom

  • Kyle Clifford

  • Direece Roche

  • Jeremy Bamber

  • Robert Maudsley

  • Peter Moore

  • Anthony Hardy

Depending on how you define "serious crime", since 2003, there have been about 11,500 murders, 4.6 million sexual offences, 1.8 million robberies, 1.1 Knife related crimes (ie assaults)

But despite those numbers, we struggle to recall just a few.

Looking at the list above, most people will recall Jeremy Bamber, Wayne Couzens, Thomas Mair, Rosemary West. Levi Bellfield, Michael Adebowale, Michael Adebolajo, Roy Whiting.

Besides, that link is about songs from the 70s / 80s

You claimed there were racist songs in the 1990's , that was the bit I was disagreeing with .

By the 1990s all the grounds were all seated stadiums with CCTV everywhere , it wouldn't be allowed to sing racist songs then

Hmm, you own reference was to the 1970s and 1980s. By the 1990s, there was a huge crackdown, coinciding with the end of all standing. It still occurs, though no longer on the scale of the past.

Last sunday, outside the Angel, I thought the singing was somewhat discriminatory towards sh*t

I did do a websech on your so called result :

"This screenshot is a notable example of a generative AI error where the search feature fabricated details about a fictional, racially violent football chant. [1, 2]"

The Hallucination: The "Trigger" chant mentioned in the text does not actually exist in historical records of English football. The system confidently synthesized a detailed backstory and context despite the premise being entirely made up. [1, 2]

There most definitely were racist songs and chanting in 80s and 90s. I remember one particular day at Fratton Park when the Portsmouth fans gave Justin Fashanu, a Brighton player at the time, a torrid time.

Justin Fashanu played for Brighton from 1985-1987 , he didn't play for Brighton in the 1990s

God you are impossible. It was a screenshot of a Google search and the Gemini summary. Why on earth would I make that up? I was merely commenting that racism was rife in football in the late 80s/early 90s. And it was. I was there. Why the hell would I make that up and then fabricate a search result? Why would I make up a chant that didn't exist and then fabricate a screenshot?

What is wrong with you?

It is an outrageous claim of cheating and lying and you really should retract it.

And again, why would I bother?

This happened at the 2021 Euro finals nick maybe you will accept it happens still.

That wasn't at a football match was it , those were trolls on social media .

We are talking about at football games, rather than on line

April 2026, John Ashby sentenced to life (minimum of 14 years) after being convicted of raping a young Sikh woman thinking she was a Muslim. He rained down anti Muslim abuse on her as he was doing it. Reaction from the right wing agitators? Nothing. Oh no, sorry, Reform councillor Stuart Prior did tweet about it: "Good, reap it" (referring to the Sikh woman, not the attacker)

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpqxrzr29pxo

Wayne Couzens an off duty MET officer stops Sarah Everard, handcuffs and kidnaps her. Then he raped her before murdering her and burning her body. Reaction from far right agitators? Nothing. Oh no, sorry, Farage came out and said don't make this is in to an attack on men or the police, it's one bad apple.

https://x.com/owenjonesjourno/status/2062505541943886220

Marco Monzo murdered Daniel Anjorin - a 14 year old black child - on his way to school with a samurai sword. Sentenced to 40 years. Reaction from the far right agitators? Nothing.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvg977nkl9xo

Chas Corrigan fatally stabbed Mohammed Algasim in a completely unprovoked attack, sentenced to 40 years in prison. Reaction from the right wing agitators? Nothing.

Axel Rudakubana murdered three young girls at a dance class in Southport, sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 52 years. Right wing agitators' reaction? To suggest the police were withholding information about the attacker being an asylum seeker. Later found to be false but it started the first of the Farage race riots that spread nationwide.

Vickrum Digwa fatally stabbed Henry Nowak and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 21 years. Reaction from far right agitators? Called for "cold, pure anger" resulting in more Farage riots where the police came under attack.

To BarraMarra, does that help?

Give it up Nick, this is boring. If you expect me to type out the lyrics to a racist chant then you are completely living in a fantasy land.

It was common amongst numerous sets of supporters.

Think what "trigger" rhymes with and use your imagination.

Why are you pretending this didn't exist? What would I have to gain by making it up and fabricating a screenshot? It's quite a thing to accuse someone of.
