Thais clearly look after their own before faramg.
Only whites aren;t allowed to prefer their own.
As others have pointed out farang is derogatory term and farangs, if not paying for everything, come after Thai soi dogs in the pecking order.

Farang is an ancient term and in no way derogatory.

If you feel you come after soi dogs, move on.

A quick search of Farage's past throws up countless evidence of his racism

So what ? everybody is racist to some degree, its a perfectly normal human instinct, and it's hard wired into all of us, Some claim not to be, they are either blatantly lying or in denial.

Its hardly "ancient" its not carved into any ancient artefacts, and to my knowledge its never been written in Pali or Sanskrit text. The Thai language itself is not old enough to be considered "ancient" It may not have started out as a pejorative, but it certainly is these days, were even using a correct but non preferred pronoun can cause "offence"

I certainly don't consider myself at the same level as soi dogs, but none of us should be under any illusions as to our place here , which is fair enough if you ask me.

If that's how you feel, you've either brought it on to yourself or you are mixing with the wrong people.

So, his apology for racism while at school doesn't count?

i would say his alleged racism whilst at school doesn't count at all . I certainly don't remember him apologising, because he didn't! However he did issue what was later described as a "nonpology" presumably to shut people like you up. But he flatly refused to issue an unreserved apology and good on him for that.

Did you never use any naughty hurty words at school ? careful with the answer "yes" makes you a hypocrite "no" , exposes you as either a liar or a tw*t or both lol

we called them worse than golliwogs , and no i wont be staying quiet, what did you call them at school, all those years ago? the sanitised non offensive terms beloved of the left today did not exist back then So lets hear about your racist past or will you be denying it too. In the future society will look back in amusement at people like you who went around screaming racist at everybody, In the same way we look back in amusement at those who accused old women of being witches .

I called them David!

Cos that was his name.

I don't recall saying anything about being told anything and I certainly did not use "term of respect". You made that up to suit your agenda.

However, I have researched the origins of the word "farang" and my earliest trace so far is the Persian word "farangi" whe referring to the Crusades by the Franks. This in turn has led me to note there are many Asian countries with similar words with the same meaning.

Absolutely correct. Now its like treading on eggshells, people in general are offended far too easily, especially from a certain demographic.

Some posters will call farage any excuse there onto it like the MAGA fanboys on here. Doesn't mean a jot if you have a go at trump even if he is wrong they will defend him, same with the Anti reformers on here nothing will deter them from there agenda of hate against farage reform or Tommy Robinson so don't try and defend them or argue with them.

Throughout my school days, 1975 to 1987, I had classmates of many nationalities and races. Indian, West Indian, Iraqi, Vietnamese.

My best mate in years 4 and 5 was an Iraqi.

I called all of them by their name. Just as they did to me.

You don't see that you are doing exactly the same as the MAGA fanboys though do you? You will defend Farage and Yaxley-Lennon no matter what - even when they are caught lying.

It's the same.

As other non-racist posters have said, when I was at school in the 1970s I called people by their name. The colour of their skin was irrelevant. But then I'm not, nor ever have been, racist.

Weird that. I was in school in the 80s and never called any black kid a "golliwog" or any other racist term. They just had names, like Derek, and Andrew.

Amazing people trying to excuse their racist pasts.

You'll be telling us it was just our racist imaginations that Robertsons jams gave Gollywogs if you collected enough labels. Ah the good old days😅

Yeah, all kids need to receive a dose of racism to toughen them up.

were nicknames not allowed at your school or did you lack the imagination to think of any ?

Like I said, I called them by their name. If they had a nick name they preferred, I'd use that. It's really not difficult to understand.

"Golliwog" is not a nickname.

I couldn't care less what you called people, but how "woke" of you to only use nicknames if it was what they preferred., That is difficult to understand actually, What are your pronouns?

I fail to see the link between politeness, being friendly and woke.

can't

We didn't get to choose our nicknames, you must have had an idyllic childhood , surrounded by all that friendliness and politeness, It can't have been much fun

I wouldn't say idyllic. It was fun though.

I've always been taught to treat others how you'd like to be treated. That has served me well in my 56 on this planet.

Whats the Topic again i forgot.
