given the usual police response time I would say it could easily have been hours before they would normally turn up Although if "racism" had been mentioned I'm sure they would pull out all the stops was it a 999 call to get the police out ? most police stations do not have a contact number? i think one must dial 101 or similar from anywhere to get through to a national call centre

If the guy got found not guilty then I would agree it would call for a movement. But he didn't, he was arrested, prosecuted and sent down for a very long time. The police made a judgement in a moment and it was the wrong one. It wasn't deliberate, it was an error of judgement.

You are not seeing "outrage" about a brief lapse of judgement, you are seeing thugs whipped up to be on the streets and cause trouble.
