Booze ban is over! I can get a proper drink now.

Full English breakfast with tinned tomatoes so all the juice gets soaked up in the toast. Loads of bacon and pork sausages because i'm not allowed pork at work.

Kayo wasn't allowed to "pork" in his flat.........................It didn't stop him !! I say go for it and open a new thread for comment when you have . :o

I made a point of having soi Thai food today for Xmas (long beans w/mushroom, tom yam gai, rice, naam prik, etc.).

All me mates stuffed their gullets with turkey and stuffing mid-day....and I'm sure are snoring heavily now.

Red Bull/ciggie sounds good right now.... :o

We had Gai Yaan, Son Tam, and Khao Neow, glass of water (mine cold, hers room temp) - staple diet for us.

Then she went off to see her mum and sisters and tucked into a happy meal of pork intestines, chicken liver, heart, and lungs. Naam Pik and all the good stuff they can get from pigs and chickens. No matter what - they never seem to get any actual meat from either animal, just the internal organs. I suspect it is a conspiracy but have no actual evidence to prove it. :D

It never ceases to amaze me how they can make a whole chicken look so un-chickeny.

We had our annual Christmas party yesterday, wives, girlfriends, kids, all invited. So, two tables of food.

The farang one had an entire leg of pork, nicely carved, roasties, mash, assorted veg etc....... the Thai table looked like they had just taken a sledge hammer to a pig....... in fact, I think that must be what they do.

Yes got it in one - the last time we went up to the girl's village they slaughtered two small pigs, one big pig and a dozen chickens. By the time it hit the table there were bowls and plates of stuff but NOT ONE SCRAP of actual meat. I was looking at each thing and going ok that is liver, that is lung, that is either calamari or sliced pig intestines. That is a bowl of rib bones so where are they hiding the meat? I wondered if they fed that to the dogs and kept all the "good chewie bits for themselves" Still 10 years at boarding school, 15 years in the Army, and married to an English girl :o I can eat anything put on a plate, cup, bowl or banana leaf

The Vietnamese butchers obviously went to the same training school. Ordered a chicked dish the other day and 30 minutes after it was carried through the cafe by it's feet it's mortal remains were on the plate looking more like road kill. A bit stringy but very tasty not at all like the watery tasting excuse for chicken sold in the UK these days. Nowadays the chickens do not have the neck and giblets inside the body cavity, I think they are sent for reprocessing and sold to KFC.

Next dish up was bullfrog, Ech, tasty but the feet looked disconcertingly like tiny human hands.

Right now it's 08:50 and what I could really go for is a breakfast bap with two rashers of bacon, sausage and fried egg with a splash of either HP or Daddies brown sauce. :o

18 months in KL and I never want to see beef bacon nor chicken sausages again mind you the only "sausages" we can get here are the frankfurter type. Fine for hot dogs but they just don't cut it on the breakfast platter. The pains of being an eternal expat - tough job but somebody's got to do it. :D

Gosh, the deep fried bananas from yesterday still here stuffed my tummy! Had awesome roasted pork and crispy pork, plus the egg and the carrots drink at one busy restaurant infront of Thammasart Uni. Aroi mak :o
