Van Service To Bangkok

Featured Replies

I have used the 180 Baht van service (from near Thai Farmer's Bank) to BKK (Victory Monument) many times but I am fed up with it. At least half the time the driving is so atrocious and dangerous that by the end of the ride I am just livid with anger. They drive like complete morons. You just have to shut your eyes and hope for the best. Its useless to say anything to the drivers (I am not good enough with the language anyway). Who owns this company? Does anybody know? Complaining to the owner would probably accomplish nothing but it may make me feel better. Is there an alternative van service that I don't know about? I would pay twice the price for better and safer service.

try the bus

have just got back from bangkok on a day trip today and used it

170 each way 3 hour journey [with a 10 minute stop on the way there but not back]

a little more comfortable than the minibus and reasonable speed [not driving like loons]

Try calling either the Dusit or Hyatt hotel(s).........they have limited daily runs to and from their sister properties .....they charge about 500 Bt per person....have excellent, maintained vans and drive more reasonbly.

Their also is a private service which runs twice a day.......will pick you up and drop you wherever you wish in both towns.....they can be booked with any travel agent.........last time I used them, it was about 600 per person (your price will vary according to the "cut" demanded by the issuing travel agent.....so shop around and don't be afraid to bargain a bit).

The only disadvantage is the picking up and dropping off of other passengers (which can be time consuming - depending on where you are in the rotation.

I haven't used them in a couple of years; so I hope they're still operative.

Sorry, I've forgotten their name....it was something like: Hau Hin Tours.

Good luck.

Take the big buses, you have a much better chance if there's an accident.

But I do find them slower and the Southern terminal to be quite inconvenient for my purposes.

Hopefully things will improve when the road construction is finished and my internal organs can relax during the journey.

Right now there are no real good options at the 180-200 baht price level.

Does anyone use the train? I think all southbound trains stop at Hua Hin?

I rode the sprinter a few times when living near Ban Krut. Pretty good service with air-con, comfy seats and western toilets.

No traffic problems unless there is a railway snafu.

The Bang Sue station is an easy walk from the BTS station if Hua Lampong station is not convenient. I'm not sure about the schedule, but BKK to ban Krut was about 5 - 5.5 hours.

Yes they'll get you there, point A Hau Hin, to point B Victory Square in just about 2 hours, driving around 120-160 kil. per hour, and breaking every road rule, they get paid bye the trip, so zoooooooooooooom your off LOL :o
