Yesterday I had a chance to attend the end-of-semester/year/cristmas event at Bangkok Patana School. The idea was to welcome Santa, who arrived.... ... on a helicopter!!!

Hiring a hlicopter.... Isn't it a waste of the parent's money??????

From what I understand, things like that are paid for by the PTG who fund raise all year for just this sort of thing. The kids love it and it doesn't come out of the school fees

I doubt that the money for school activities are not coming from the tuition fees. Yes, the school does fundraise, but uses those funds for different purposes, including tons of charities, etc.

I personally had an impression that kids were not that glad to see Santa after they spent more than an hour waiting for him to come - under the sun (well, half of children were lucky to be in a shadowed area).

Children really seemed not to care on the mode of transport - they were looking forward to leaving the heat asap. I wish i had a camera to take pics of those tired faces...

Oh, well, I do recall one child asking his mum where the reindeer were...
