Marriage In Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is there somewhere in Phuket me and my Thai g.f can get a quick wedding similar to the ones you can do in the BKK register office?

Thanks in advance

Any Umpur's Office (local Mayor/town hall) will do it same day, assuming you have the correct paperwork to support you are both unmarried (single or divorced) and personal papers (Passport for Farang, Thai ID and Tabian Ban for Thai National). Really quite easy.

okay thanks,

as far as I was aware, you only had to show paperwork if you were married before and are now divorced? How can you show paperwork that supports the fact that you were never married? I am a british citizen by the way.

This has recently been discussed here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=158895

Basically you make a paper certifying you are single or divorced, and have your emabssy in Bangkok witness your signature on that paper. Then have that paper (& divorce certificate,if divorced) translated into Thai at the governemnt official translation department in Bangkok.
