Okay dokey ... Tiger in Thai should be seua - so someone didn't do it right babe!!! The other words that are seua in Thai mean shirt and some that I can't remember this late at night.

Pee seau = butterfly ... Ghost Shirt

Seonai = Janet in old Scottish, akin to Sean which became John - Gaelic :o

Yep - whenever I see seugha on TV I think swayger not seua - took a while for the old synapses to fire up and connect the photo to the name!

I'll be happy with my tones when I can say "the tiger bought a shirt" correctly in Thai . . . oh and "new silk/wood doesn't burn, does it?"!!

That's not a bad analogy Ping! Of course the pronouncing of the 'sew' is dependant on where you're from...

Hey, I like Swayger! I might use it as a username on another site!

There are 'other' sites? :o

Cyber-life beyond TV - I don't believe it. I tell you, we ARE alone (but I want to believe)... :D

I'm a mod on a classic car forum. So there are other forums. Sorry!

:D

Yes I can imagine all the trolling and flaming that would need to be stamped-out on a classic car forum... :D

Nah, everything's good natured and amicable. The biggest mod problem is trying to keep off the posters with ulterior motives! I think you know what I mean...

Sorry Suegha, I don't. What could the ulterior motives be?

Walnut separatists ?

:o Very funny taddy!

Every now and then posters will post links to porn sites or investment sites and we have to remove it pronto. Having said that we don't get as much traffic as tv...

I think he really meant to say "interior motiffs" you know like old Jaguar badges on the dash board.

I bet they have a terrible time on there with people "bumping" threads :D

Sorry, i'll get my coat.......No i won't, i'll get my blanket :o

It's actually a Saab v4 discussion forum. We love our old cars so much we wouldn't want to bump them!

Here's my car:

And nice hub caps they are. He bought them off Ben Hur :D

It's a special anniversary edition, no 32 of 300 made. It came with special hubcaps.

Impressive looking beast. Must be worth a quid and murder for insurance. About ten or so years ago Saab Australia lent us some new cars to take up to Falls Creek (ski resort) for the weeken. By the time we were finsished with them, a good deal of the interior fittings had either came away or broken. Quality control didn't seem ot be a priority at that time. You don't even get real bumpers these days - just a bit of moulded plastic. But the mechanicals of today are huge compensation; as are the prices (compared with the price of cars prior to the 60s as a ratio of the annual average wage).

Talking old cars.

Here's 1971 Fairlane 500, a real car, a sleek steel made and steel bumpered classic now.

Hit me in ya modern tinfoil heap and look out.

One owner, well it was my dad's, could not give it away when he died, hamily heirloom now.

Lurrrrve dat car.

I nearly bought one of those when I was a pup. Took it for a test drive and was unimpressed with the power (lack thereof for such a large car). The test drive one probably didn't have the most powerful of the engines on offer. Funny thing is, I can't remember what I bought. Oh yes, a Pontiac Ventura - lovely car in its day.

What's the power like in the heirloom - has it got the big V8?

Classic car insurance on a limited mileage policy is actually very cheap in the UK. £100 for a year for each of my classics. (I also have a 66 Amazon).

Make sure it gets driven as old cars need the exercise! It looks in good condition.

I think Pete's heirloom could sdo with the rust being cut out and a drop of turtle wax. Probably a quid or two for Pete to spend on it if he feels it's worth the investment. Interesting, Suegha, about your insurance comment. When you think about it, it makes sense, since the thing wouldn't be on the road all that often and isn't likely to be driven by a rev head. I suppose it is a special category of insurance, but they seem to be standard number plates, so I suppose you pay the full whack for registration and 3rd party.

I'm not sure what you mean Ping. If by registration you mean 'tax' I pay the same as a normal car £165 pa (from memory) and the insuance is fully comp at £114 pa. So all in all a cheap car to own and run.
