Can you get a re-entry permit at the airport (like in Bangkok) or do you need to go to Nathon office?

Also if cannot get at airport do you need to go to office in person or can you send someone with your passport and completed form?

Thanks for any info.

Can get it at the airport in Bangkok. The desk is after you have checked in so allow time.

Personally I would not like to leave it this late and would get at Immigration.

Be honest the Samui office is not really difficult to get to.

My nearest office is a 3 hour drive.

Appreciate your advice Lite Beer but some time constraints so hence the question. Normally go to Samui Office but if can get at Samui Airport would be a bonus. Direct flight out of Samui so no transit through Bangkok.

Do you know if can send a rep to Immigration Office with all your paperwork or must you go in person?

Why not call the Samui office and find out for sure?

I flew to Singapore out of Samui last year and got my re-entry permit in Nathon. He knew I was flying that afternoon and did not say anything about being able to do it at the airport, he also knew I was in a hurry so pushed me ahead of the queue to get me done in time, so I suspect it is not possible at the airport. Also have to add that there didn't appear to be an actual office at the airport and that the Immigration official showed up just in time for boarding so it would have been really tight timewise to also issue a re-entry permit.

But, if I were you, I would just call Nathon to find out for sure.

I think the Re-Entry-Permit is too important and the behaviour and knowledge of most of the Immigration officers too low and info by phone to unsure to try to get it at Samui or BKK airport. Go to Nathon personally and talk to Pi Nok (BTW he is not an immi officer..).

Got it in Nathon, definately not able to get at Samui airport. Apparently Nathon Office will accept a rep going on your behalf as long as you arrange first by phone and send along the completed TM 8 (with photo) and your passport...plus the fee of course!

Thanks for the info everyone, just thought I'd ask the question as would have been a bonus to do it at the airport here, like I've done before in BKK. (Maybe not enough international departures to warrant manning an office at Samui airport)
