Hi all, just a quick question.

We are both UK nationals under 50 we have been granted a non-immigrant type O visa for our visit,

The visa states - utilize 29th March as we fly from the UK ON THE 28TH AND ARRIVE BKK ON THE 29TH IN THE MORNING.

WE ARE A LITTLE CONFUSED AS IN THE NOTES WITH THE VISA IT STATES THAT WE MUST UTILIZE THE VISA BEFORE THE STATEED DATE (29TH). DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN ENTER THAILAND AND OUR VISA STARTS ON THE 29TH OR MUST WE USE IT BEFORE THE 29TH?

THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

Please advise exactly what the visa says - a visa should have a date of issue and a use before date. Also what is says for number of entries.

The date of issue should be the date the Consulate stamped it into your passport.

The use before date should be three or twelve months later for a Non Immigrant O visa.

Did you get the visa 3 months before your departure date?

A single entry non immigrant visa must be used within 3 months of date of issue.

The dates on your visa have no influence over how long you can stay in Thailand.

You'll be given 90 days of stay starting from the day you enter Thailand, as long as you enter before the use before date!

…The visa states - utilize 29th March…

As Lopburi said, you should post here exactly what the visa says. What you wrote cannot be correct. More likely, you obtained your visa already 2 months ago, it is valid for a single entry, and it says something like “this visa must be utilized before 29 MAR 2008”. If this is the case, it is valid for arrival in Thailand not later than 28 March 2008; if your arrival will be on 29 March you must get a new visa.
