Yes, I did a search but it didn't really leave me any the wiser. Just what is the story behind the Thairung Isuzu SUV's I see around and are they any good?

Thairung Adventure Master is actually built on a DMax platform

It is a very good SUV, full option, and not easy to find on the 2nd hand market (I mean at a reasonable price)

You can now get the "Chevrolet" version of the Sdventure Master. It is called All Roader

They have been in the market for over 10 years. They are still selling....not sure about reliability, safety, etc.

Not so sure about their rust prevention either as all the ones I get stuck behind look like rot boxes.

Thairung is an Thai company puttin their own SUV like bodies on brandname pickups. They converted old Isuzus and also Nissans before Navarra. Now it's in a deep shit because it's no competition to Fortuner or Mu7, or even Everest, and then there's upcoming Mitsu G-Wagon.

Hi :o

But then probably the only reason there ARE such things like MU7, Everest and G-Wagon in Thailand (which are all derived from pickups) is BECAUSE of Thairung - which had a "monopoly" on that type of car before. Thairung also exports, mainly to African countries.

Another competition for Thairung, these days, is "Carryboy" who used to make only those "backpacks" for pickups but now make fully modified bodies as well ("Grand Carryboy").

Best regards.....

I'm not sure Thairung was really the pioneer. Sportrider was the first pickup based SUV, Thairung is those days made something like Carryboy, not full body replacements.
