He even famously pointed out that, on the Internet, people can be whoever they want to be and do whatever they want to do. Anyone ever meet him?

ColPyat and I didn't agree on many subjects, but, he told me his name and who he works for by PM. He also provided me with tons of good background reading on whatever subject we were arguing about - copied articles and the name of books.

He wasn't a troll - more like a genuine genius. :o

Did you meet him?

as he said himself... anyone can be anyone here on the 'Net.

Posting information doesn't guarantee or verify anything.

He know doubt read a lot about Thailand, but anyone can. But it's ok, UG, you are not alone in being hoodwinked by the Master.

:D boy, that's going down deep into the of Archives' basement...

Terrific trolling thread titles he OP'd:

Misguided Unfortunates That Married Hookers

The Benefits Of Marrying A Prostitute?

Nothing personal about your vendetta against him, I'm sure. :o

I can't tag Colypat as a troll now, but I will trace him & his (posts & threads) down to figure out this matter.Same to what I had done to the one whom had been mentioned by Momo8 (short-something;who was struck by BS) in CM forum.

On the other hand:I can not agree more with you on this bitter truth, your opinion above is so true on this point of view.

I can claim am a high-educated, decent ,wealthy hot diva here in this (cyber-world) "NET"; basing on the fact that no one would find out about me or knows my (real-world) identity & status.

That's why you would not get many members attending (or even avoiding) the TV meet-up or gatherings. Even if they would join ;there will be (sometimes) a shock between the illusionary imaginary image and their reality.

But;I just have to disagree with you on the "Master" title , there is another one who deserves it.He is the Master of all (soap-dodgers).

My favorite troll is Weekendwarrior too.I still have nightmares since I read his profile.

My favourite is WeekendWarrior (just read his personal info,if this guy is not a troll he's f***ing scary and so are his posts.

Agreed, I get the feeling he can play a mean tune on the banjo!!

If I alone was involved in the dozens of disputes he got into members with, the above might be true... but the archives say otherwise.

No easy task as things only become apparent after reading many, many different posts in a variety of contexts, of which he has 4,000-plus posts. It is, however, an admirable endeavor and I wish you luck with it.

Quite an original and certainly refreshing to encounter one with a totally different shtick.

I believe he's still posting elsewhere as english noodles.

I'd have to say that Weho was my *favourite* troll. Once when I warned him his reply was, "I don't think 7 days is enough to teach me a lesson!" Never had hard feelings against him.

Colpyat certainly did have a lot of people fooled about a lot of things- probably best if I leave it at that.

:D sounds just like Steve McQueen.

Whether it was either getting continually locked up in the cooler in "The Great Escape" or in "Papillion" getting thrown into isolation on Devil's Island, he wore his bravery on his sleeve. :o

Colpyat wasn't a complete troll. Actually talked to him through the PM system on a few occasions.

He was just very opinionated about his view point on life. He seemed to get a lot of satisfaction from winding people up who didn't share his views & seemed to have no idea about when he crossed the line and started really pissing people off.

Weho on the other hand seemed to live in a life of fantasy more often than in real life. While there were probably many elements of truth to his drama queen predicaments, I think he had a special talent for putting his thoughts to paper and proving response.

Mr Rosner, Squiggle & JeffreyStanhope have certainly given me a few laughs over the last twelve months.

Currently the weekend warrior poster has to go down as the scariest, most disturbed individual.

Who is the best Bedlam trolls?

Has to be robski & ko. :o

Colpyat was not a troll

controversial maybe but not a troll

Who is the best Bedlam trolls?

Neither of us are subtle enough for that honour.

I think you'll find that we are mere pawns, nay victims, of the Bedlam trollmaster... Mossfinn

OI! I resemble that comment!

jai yen yen guys! :D

I do believe that the best bedlam troll award also to be the most enlightened, entertaining and envisioning in a little part of the world where most things are upside down, inside out or just downright left field. :D

read: compliment for splendid effort & input. :D

Moss is the umhhh, erhhh, subtle one! Always an angle to a real situation.

Then again tigger has been pushing the boundaries in the bid ass thread. Why can't we have a big tit's thread as well? No pink bits there - somebody clear it with management, OK? :o

I always thought he was very clued up about politics and history especially military stuff, perhaps he just wasn't who he claimed to be..

I sorta know him. also did see some of his posts on TV, and I dont recall he made any claims about being anyone of any significance.

the info he shares, or the arguments he makes are based on facts he has from various sources. ofcourse based on similar facts, people can still have different views/interpretation or opinions about those facts or circumstances. not agreeing with his views does not make him a troll.

the history part yes..through a lot of reading...from books and such...but i also have to add that with the more current stuff his sources and facts are from first hand experience and discussion with people on the grounds about things happening around thailand.

but thats all I should say...as I dont think its my place to reveal too much. but at the same time since hes not around I felt I should clarify some aspect of it.

ohh..and to add that yes SJ, I have met colpyat. but maybe that wont make any difference to you, cos to you my comments and remarks dont seem to be worth noting anyway :o

Duly noted, mig... however I'd just point out that his 4600 posts contained hundreds of references to who's, wheres, whens, and hows... the overwhelming vast amount of them unique to him alone and suspiciously convenient whenever he needed to quote some unverifiable source to support his contentions.

If in the end, it's all true and verifiable, then he's got more experiences than Rudyard Kipling and Jim Thompson put together. I remain doubtful as it grossly exceeded the limits of believability.

Whatever credibility he may have had before, however, is lessened even more so by his 3 bannings in 3 days during this past week. I've not witnessed a more pathetic showing since I've been a member.

That is your opinion, but I always felt that he was looked down upon because a lot of members didn't like him and would follow him around taunting and insulting him, rather than for anything he said or did. I can understand how he became so frustrated that he just didn't care anymore.

After all, it is really OUR loss. :o

i cant say that all of his 4000 posts are true or not. cos i dont /didnt read/ and dont plan to read all of his posts. id prolly have come across about 10 of them or maybe 20 or so. and those were related to situation in southern thailand.

any claims he made in relation to experience in the area, or working with/knowing border patrol police, or working with ambulance people in bangkok...those i know are certainly true.

cant comment on who would be my fav troll. i dont pay much attention to what goes on in general anymore. used to get into political discussion on the forum, but my days on that are over. there are no trolls in the footie forum, just some disillusioned footie fans :o and I can live with that :D

although Weho did catch my eye. have to say it was funny to see how he could elicit response from people so easily. i think he was having a very good laugh at most of those that responded to his threads.

.........needed to quote some unverifiable source to support his contentions.

If in the end, it's all true and verifiable........

SJ, Im really curious. why do you always keep talking about sources? anytime I made a comment based on 'MY OPINION" of things, you always asked for sources too. why cant someone have an opinion based on combination of past knowledge of related and unrelated issues,

why is it always absolutely needed that we quote sources?

and yes, there will also be situations where some people will come across certain facts that they dont want to quote ...in my case cos I dont want to reveal too much of my own identity nor my sources.

its a discussion board....we can still debate opinions without knowing the root of the source of that opinion cant we?

well...Im going off topic here I suppose.....

His departure is due entirely to his own actions.

He insulted plenty of people... hence his banning.

As for my quoted opinion, you do realize that he was banned in six months ago in October, yes?....and my quoted post mentioned just last week's multiple bannings.... to me that's pathetic, as I would imagine to most others as well.

He despised the forum (not me nor a few members) and ridiculed the entire forum many times... but to this day, he can't seem to stay away.

I agree we're heading off a bit, so I'll keep it short and just say that if had only been a matter of voicing his opinion, I'd have no problem with that. It's when people are signifying something they are saying is a fact and if it seems to contradict what other information is out there, then I would like to see some verification other than "because I said so" or "because I was there and so and so said this and that"....

That is what occured countless times in that 4,600-plus collection of posts.

Ok Siracha John let's see some of these:

hundreds of references to who's, wheres, whens, and hows... the overwhelming vast amount of them unique to him alone and suspiciously convenient whenever he needed to quote some unverifiable source to support his contentions.
It's when people are signifying something they are saying is a fact and if it seems to contradict what other information is out there, then I would like to see some verification other than "because I said so" or "because I was there and so and so said this and that".

And lay this matter to rest. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but I would like to see the basis of your conclusion.

There must be something amiss here if I find myself agreeing with Mr G :o

Check what you're agreeing with first as UG's post was in response to the 3 bannings in 3 days being pathetic quote.

Also, it overlooks the fact that he dished out plenty...to lots of different people.... and so much over-the-top plenty that he's gone now, which should provide a clue.

As for the first quote, that will take some doing... with a lot of the good stuff deleted by mods... still I'll work on it tomorrow and see what I can assemble.

Indeed I should always check what I agree with.

I look forward to seeing what you can dig up, it will be much appreciated as always. :o

Keep SJ busy in here guys. It keeps him away from the "Thaksin buys Man City" thread :o

The Dude. Hands down. Terry57 and The Donz are close seconds. And of course, we can't forget Sunrise07 and FranklySpeaking for their flaming on the gay thread.
