A friend of mine gained a non-im 6 month dual entry educational visa from the UK by saying he was studying Muay Thai here (which happens to be true)... he had the documentation to back it up, but he swears he didn't have to show it to anyone, and they gave it to him no sweat.

We bounced through Burma the other week and they stamped me for 1 month, and him for his second lot of 6! Is it normally that easy?

Regarding the entry from Burma into Thailand, that was normal procedure.

Regarding the documents required by a consulate with an application for a visa, this may vary from one consulate to another.
