Minivdo: The Phuket Land Transport Office Issues New Smart Card Driving Licenses Which Can Be Used Overseas.

Yesterday was the first day which Phuket Land Transport Office introduced a driving license by computer. The same new service is carried out in 9 other southern provinces of the country. Holders of old licenses can change their card to the new system. An additional fee of 100 baht is charged, in addition to normal fee. The new driving license is plastic with a photo and the Thai national flag on front. It contains both Thai and English information. A magnetic line is on the back of the card. Phuket Land Transport Office chief Chatchawan Ngamthap said his office have sufficient reserved. It can also be used in Asian country members or countries which have treaties with Thailand.
