Well I have a TRIPLE tourist Visa that the first visa stamp expires on 15 Oct...I will be in Bangkok on 8 Oct and want to know that If I go to immigration will they give me a 30 day extension or a 7 day extension???

If they will only give me a 7 day extension I dont want to spend the money, I would rather return to my home Burirum and make a run to Poi Piet for another 60 day's...Need to know soonest as I will board the train here at 0800 on Friday...

Thanks

I see alot of people of this website critizing others for what they ask or say...To me this web site is to help others not discourage or intimidate them, maybe I'm wrong!!!

There may be some people just like me...To young for a retirement visa even though retired from the U.S. Military and receiving a pension every month in addition to taking care of 5 Thai citizens and having built a home and having in my name motorcycles, jeep etc....

I love Thailand and I love the Thai culture have been here for almost four years, however I don't know when this run will end.....

Only positive feedbacks please...

Summarising what has been said so far, you should get 30 days.

It is only Nong Khai that is cutting back.

However this Thailand, so be ready for a surprise, when you apply.

Good luck and please let us know how you fare.

If the truth is negative you do not want to hear it?

For any extension of stay you need a reason. If your reason is accepted as plausible then you will more than likely be able to receive a 30 day extension of your tourist visa stay. How long you can continue to do this is the million dollar question and I would have bank/retirement/atm receipts with me in case you are ever asked.

You probably will not have any problem.

KHUNDAN,

I also believe the 30day is a good bet. My understanding is the 7 day follows a previous 30day, received in country, granted you have no multiple entries.

In addition, I saw in one of your past posts that you used a certain tour and Visa business in Penang, Malaysia MAJU MEHAA SINGH TRAVEL & TOURS, 384 Chukia Street, 10200 Penang. I was wondering if you happen to remember what you paid for his services. I'm headed that way and he quoted me about 60$US dollars for helping with my B visa. Does this sound right????????? Thanks kindly,

Good luck with your extension!

Nong Khai are now doing a U Turn and saying that they never claimed that it would be cut back to 7 day extension only that they have the right to issue up to 30 days and they may issue a 7 day extension if they feel like it..

There are a load of people on this forum. Some timewasters, some genuinely trying to help.

A tourist visa of 60 days can be extended for another 30 days - at the discretion of the official.

Well said to travel with proof of earnings/savings. I always do. So, why do people regularly post here and say that money means nothing unless you're applying for retirement/marriage etc visa? Rubbish. The documentation you have cannot hurt!!

Allbeit it years ago, I got my 30 day extension from Bangkok, and a further 15 days and ANOTHER 8 days on Koh Samui. Immigration at the airport looked closely at the "under consideration" stamps as I was leaving. But no problem.

FYI ubon-expat: The visa rules and regulations are ever changing and evolving, from day to day, hour to hour and even person to person. Many people, as I, log on here to post questions for information, not negative criticism. Some may just want a peace of mind; though they believe they understand the procedures.

Anyone looking for visa information on-line will always run into this web-cite. It is the guru of Thai visa info! So Please, think about what you write before you hit “add reply”.!? thank you

For UBON-Expat: You try and make me look as though I am a lost puppy.....Yes I've been here for four years and I have loved it here and still do... In the past all this Visa stuff was pretty clear cut and easy to get done... Well now things are getting tight and I think this forum is the place to talk to other farangs and get the up to date scoop...

I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway but you are like alot of others. You only want to be the good guy (I KNOW WHAT I'M DOIONG))) and make others feel less fortunant... Well you cannot hurt my feelings as I'm a retired Marine living in Thailand and just asking for advise from people that know the ends and outs or think they do...

All I can say to you is that if all you have to say is negative then dont say nothing at all... There is always a way if there's a will!!!

For N7zrd: I really dont remember the cost in Malaysia but the company you have is the company that does it for all the other rudiputs their.. Really good people and he will tell you straight up wheather or not you have a chance in getting what you want. Not like other Visa services that promise you something and at the end say "Well this is the best that can be done"...Trust him and let me know as well as others on this board how things turn out...

I want to say thanks to all the other memebrs that answered my question and this is what I really was looking for as well as I'm sure alot of other people ..
