The nonsensical hyperbole never ends. He was not a supporter of apartheid. It is unfair to even accuse him of something for which he was not even remotely connected. He immigrated to Canada at age 17, joining the large South African community who had fled the oppressive South African regime. His father's opposition to apartheid is well documented. He was raised in a home that was not supportive of the apartheid system. Musk is driven by ego and by profit making opportunity. He doesn't care who he deals with if it means he gets what he wants. Biden is not extreme left, nor is Harris. It shows a profound ignorance of political ideologies to make that statement. Yes, there is a predominance of red, but that is it. It is deceitful to claim that this demonstrates a dominance of Republican views. Rather , what it shows is a reflection of the USA's population distribution. 73,736,432 Americans still voted for the Democratic candidate. In some districts the margin was less than 1%. Ignoring 48% of the US population is folly. Arrogance and bullying is what will result in a blow out in the US midterm elections in 2 years. It has happened previously and will happen again. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Order 162/2566 clarified that the notorious order 161/2566, effective from January 1, 2024, does not apply to income earned before January 1, 2024. This meant that income derived before January 1, 2024, would still be subject to the previous rule: it would only be taxed if brought into Thailand within the same tax year it was earned. Ergo, foreign-source income earned in 2023 is only assessable if brought into Thailand in 2023. -

I have bought a new Laptop since the old one got to slow. So my question is can I send mail from the old one to the new one? Since both use the same mail address? Can I send mail to myself? I know my old laptop has to be charged up again since the battery will be flat, but is at possible to do that? Don't tell me to send it to cloud I know nothing about it. -

Yes. That tax thing is quite a large unknown. Even if the dollars and cents become not an issue, the alleged and possible need to report income, provide tax records, argue about capital losses or net gains, or deductions etc. will stop a lot of actions by many people. I know that when i retire in February of next year I will not be spending the 180 days in thailand. Not a big deal but it will require me to sort out my living here in the USA with any long term rental in Thailand differently than i was planning. I remember back in 2004 when I was so going to buy a condo in Pattaya. It would have been OK for about a dozen years but as my work and time habits changed, then COVID, and not to mention whatever problems might have cropped up such as crazy neighbors, condo maintenance not happening, immigration paperwork for my visa, etc.. I am glad I did not buy. So many less headaches.
