MichaelMF Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I just got a brochure from Bank of Ayudhya about their Foreign Currency Deposit Account. The details looks interesting: - Only Passport required - Minimum $500 for Savings Account and $5000 for Time Deposit - ATM card for the Foreign Currency Account which allows to withdraw Thai Baht at the Real Time T/T Buying Rate - Online Transfer of International Funds for 350 Baht Any experiences with this service or this bank in general?
Artamus Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Any experiences with this service or this bank in general? I use this bank and so far have had nothing to complain about. I transfer money in and withdraw cash from their ATM - so pretty basic transactions/service. They generally seem on the ball (or at least the staff in my local branch).
Bung Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I'm looking at doing the same. Any experience with their online banking? I will need to be able to transfer money from one account to another (all ayudhya accounts)
BEENTHEREDONETHAT Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Considered it briefly. 2% charge when you put it in and 2% when you take it out. If you leave it there earning for a year you will only lose a little, since the interest is less than 4% and the gov't gets 15% of interest earned. Not my idea of a money maker.

Very true, but what are the options for a farang living in Thailand if want to have some Fx here in the country?
