Serviced Apartment And International Schools Recommendations

Featured Replies

hello everyone,

i was wondering if you could recommend some nice long term serviced apartments or condos for my friend. my friend and his wife and 2 kids will be moving to bangkok for work and i'm trying to help him find a safe and luxury condo to live and also very good pre-kindegarten shcool for his daughter. he'll be working on wireless road. i'm wondering if some of you guys have this combination of housing and schools for your kids worked out and help me out. the school is probably more important than where he lives and he's going to have a driver and a car so it's ok if he has to drive 30 or so minutes to take his kids to school then to work.

i'm thinking that most of the condos on lang suan, rajadamri and ruamrudee should be fine. please if you have any specifics on both housing and top international schools, please advise. thanks.

Narantiwas soi 24 is not too far from Wireless and has plenty of apartments on it: Oakwood, Bangkok Gardens, Belle Park and plenty of others. New Sathorn International School is walking distance (less than a block) from any one of them. Their Kindergarten program is good and there is also a gymboree on that block.

No offense, but assuming his housing allowance is going to be in 100k+ range he can do a lot better then those. The Op does not say his friend's nationality, which may determine what curriculum he would want his children to have.

Thanks everyone. I will take a look. My friend's American Japanese and he prefers the American system for his daugther. I asked him to take a look at RIS and NIST so far. As for the housing, I'ved asked him to take a look at Centerpoint and other buildings on Lang Suan. Is there a particular Centerpoint that is nicer than the others?

Thanks again

Centerpoint Wireless is a lot nicer than Centerpoint Langsuan, but Langsuan does also have Fraser Suites and Mayfair Apartments which are both nice. However, you lack greenery and space in that area....if he doesn't mind a short commute I'd highly recommend he take a look at Amanta Ratchada (visitamanta.com) which a low-rise resort-style serviced apartment. It's got all the facilities you'd want, MRT on the doorstep and Esplanade (supermarket, shops, restaurants, bowling, cinema) right next door. It's also set back from the road so you don't hear any traffic noise.

Near Ratchada you have Regents and KIS international schools, both a short taxi ride away.

Many Japanese expats live in Nichada Thani and send their kids to ISB (they have a hel_l of baseball team made up mostly of Japanese kids)
