Cable Sky Suppliers

Featured Replies

can anyone tell me a list of cable/sky packages I can buy in Phuket. I have heard of true but have noticed that the channels sometimes vary depending on the hotel/apt so obvously there are other ones, can anyone help?

Cable supplier depends on where you live. Usually a choice of 2 operation in most locations, each with slightly different channel service.

True/UBC is the satellite service, same channels all over Thailand, depending on your package. Gold 1,568 baht/month, and Platinum 2,070 baht/baht. Quite expensive compared to cable at about 300 baht/month/point.

cheers, just checked out the website, but the packages are very different to the channels i have in my current apt wich Im quite fond of, any idea why?? are there other subscriptions aroudn as I quite liek this one??

You only get the channel line up that the operator provides.. So essentially its a choice of which operator not which package. If you really want to retain the package your have with your current provider then you have to stay in thier catchment zone.

We have Patong Cable in Patong and Karon Cable in Kata and there is not much difference in programmes. A friend who lives in Rawai has much the same programmes as we have. I always thought there was little difference (just a few channels different). Most cable companies on Phuket Island offer about 54 channels, with about 12 in English, 1 in German (DW), 1 in French (TV5), 1 in Italian (Rai), 1 in Spannish (TVE), with the rst in Thai. The English channels typically CNN, BBC, Fox, Reality, Australian TV, Series, 4 sports, and at least 3 movie channels.
