Understanding My Re-entry Permit Number

Recommended Posts

I got my first re-entry permit and I know I need to enter it on my landing card. I am on a retirement extension from Jomtien office.

Trouble is, I am not sure I understand the number that is written.

The number looks like this:

4346 (a 4 digit number) (then what looks like a hyphen but I guess could possible be a 1) and then 2 more digits which happen to be my age

The question is: is what looks like a hyphen maybe a 1?

If it is a hyphen (probably is I think) should I only enter the initial 4 digit number, or also add the hyphen and the last two digits?

Thanks muchly, flying soon ...

Hmm. I've got a 3 digit number a forward slash and then two numbers. in fact, all previous re-entry permits have a 3 digit number/two digit number combination.

So, its probably a forward slash not a 1

On your return you should write down the 4 digits then the / or -, and then the two digits, probably 51 for the current year of 2551.

Then just to the right of the blank boxes where you write in the re-entry permit number you should also write in capital letters RE-ENTRY PERMIT.  Doing so will hopefully alert the Immigration officer that you are on a re-entry permit so s/he doesn't just stamp you in for 30 days.

Thank you all so much. It definitely sounds like it is a forward slash.

I guess I am a re-entry permit holder virgin no more.

BTW, I meant to say forward slash from the outset. It looks nothing like a hyphen. Time outside Thailand is playing with my brain.
