Hi,

Congratultions about the news of the baby.

I am sorry but the information you have posted is a bit thin to work with, I have set out below some questions that might give people a better grasp of the situation and also some questions that I feel are likely to require an answer at some point during the appliction process to give you something to think about.

Do you live in Southern Ireland or Northern Ireland with your wife and how long have you been there?

What problems did you have getting your wifes visa, how long ago was that and was that a UK Visa or a Visa for Southern Ireland?

Does your wife have any disablility that prevents her from caring for the baby?

Why is is neccessary for your wifes cousin to take care of the baby?

How long do you propose to have your wife care for the baby?/

What type of Visa will she be applying for?

What terms have you agreed about payment for the child care arrangements with the cousin?

Who will be paying for her travelling costs and her living expenses for the period of the visa?

Does she have a job at present, i so what does she do and will her employer be willing to keep her job open for the presumably long period she will be with you?

What age is the cousin, is she married/ does have children in Thailand/ is so what are their ages and who will be looking after them whilst mum is away ?

What funds does she have in the Bank?

Where does she live and dose she own that property or any other property?

Accomodation arrangements during her stay with you?

Proof of your ability to cover the costs?

I am sure you are well aware of the difficulties you are facing, there are child care facilities in Ireland and although the Au pair sytem is another option for child care that scheme does not include people from asia.

What bothers me slightly is that you apparently had some difficulty in obtaining your wifes visa which suggests that money may have been problem at that time?

Did your wife enter Ireland under the EEA family member system?

Sorry for so many questions but the more information you have available the better your chances of success.

I am sure we have some Irish Members who could share some of their personal experiences with you.

All the best
