Civil Partnership Proof?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ive been living with my GF in Thai for almost 2 years, before that she was with me in the UK for 5months, in this time weve had a 1 month break,

Do i need an offcial doc to prove my stay here and co-habitation?

1 i have a yellow house book,

2 GF has a blue book and a registered buisness

3 I have lots of mail from bank/family/ect from UK.

4 I have a motorbike registered in my name.

Reason is perhaps in about 10years time, we are thinking about retiring in the UK, or do I/we need anymore proof of our co-habiting as man and wife in Thailand,

Thanks for info and views, Lickey.

Just to clarify the terminology, the relationship you have with your g/f is an unmarried partnership: a civil partnership is form of marriage that is undertaken by a homosexual couple.

However, if you're not thinking of applying for the visa for another 10 years, I wouldn't worry too much about evidence at this stage. A lot, legally speaking, may change in that time. In the interim, keep any documentation that shows the two of you to be together and at the same address.

Scouse.

Scouse, thanks for the clarifaction, as in our unmarried partnership, would it be 2 years together to be eligble for a seltement visa or more, Thanks, Lickey..

At the time of the visa application you will have had to have been in a relationship akin to marriage for at least the immediately preceding two years.

Scouse.
