I'm not sure if we have had a riddle thread in the past but as the one below was sent to me by a good friend I thought I would post it and see if the totally combined I.Q. of Bedlam (about 41 at the last count) could help me solve this little conundrum.

"I live above a star, but never burn. I have 11 neighbours but they never turn. My initials are p q and r and sometimes s. What am I?"..........

P.S. I didn't know where else to post it, the only connection to Thailand is that I live here and the 60 something lady who emailed it to me has a great sense of humour.

You are standing outside a room with a closed door, you have been told that there are three light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. On the wall outside the room there are three light switches, you are told that each switch controls just one light (all currently off) you can fiddle with the switches as much as you want, but you can only open the door and enter the room once.

How do you find out which switch controls which light?

Turn on one switch, wait 1 minute, then switch off. Turn on another one, and leave switched on. Enter room, see which light is on, and then which bulb is still warm, that being the one you switched on for a minute.

You are twenty miles from the nearest town during a heavy blizzard on a snow covered mountain - ahead you see a small log cabin, when you enter you see there is a log burning stove with a supply of logs, dry paper and small twigs ready to burn, a parafin lantern with fuel and wick intact and a long life "Wind-Proof" candle - but there is only one match in the whole cabin, which do you light first?

Not a riddle per se, but NASA intended to fly some canaries into space to study them under zero g. However, it was realised that they would die quickly in zero-g. Why?

They are from different sets of twins.

The most common riddle posted on the net is about there being three words in the English language that end in 'gry' one being angry and the other hungry, depending on how the question is asked it is easily solved but never with a word that ends with 'gry' ..... it's a trick question (there are actually over 180 words that end with those three letters, but none of them are in common usage)

Feel free to google it.

But don't google this one, it's like cheating at patience, and it's dead easy anyway, just requires a little bit of thought.
