remih06
Hello everyone, i was just after some advice regarding the Green book. I am interested in buying a motorbike (only 115cc) that has no green book. The owner said he has all the purchase details and the previous shop where i could retain the book. My question is how much will this cost, and what are the consequences of not having such a book? Thank you in advance
LivinLOS
Not having a green book on a big bike is usually an indication its not had the registration duties paid but on a small bike thats not so common. But it could be stolen or still have outstanding finance.. No book means no real proof of clear ownership / title. Unless its very cheap (4 figures) find one with a book, or let the seller get the book first.

One question though : If someone was stopped with no green book what would happen? Would the bike be confiscated and the person subjected to a fine? **sorry about the triple posts! LivinLOS
You dont need to carry the green book around with you, but you will need it to retax the bike each year and also to prove ownership if it was ever nicked or anything happened. If the bike is untaxed your lining up it being a real non stop pain in small fines and police stop hassle, unless you live deep in the sticks.
