Visit Laos With Infant

Featured Replies

I am a Brit, planning a short 2-night/3-day visit to Vientiane via the Friendship Bridge with my Thai wife and family. We have a 4 month-old son but we haven't got his UK passport or Thai ID or passport yet. He is however in the house Tibian Bhan here in Udon.

Does anyone know what Thai and Lao Immigration would need in the way of acceptable documentation for him to visit?

Many thanks,

Not a problem, the kid will need a "border pass" which he can get in Nong Khai, there's agents at the van station before the bridge.  Take along his birth certificate in addition to the tambien ban.

FYI, we did this a few years back with wife's daughter, age about 14 then, and adopted nephew, about 10.  Forgot the adoption paper for the nephew so was a bit of a problem with him but worked it out.
