Voip Alternative To Skype

I am looking for a good multi platform alternative to Skype to recommend to customers.

Here are a few requirements.

1. Multi platform (Windows, OSX, Linux).

2. Free computer to computer calls.

3. Well defined port range that can be prioritized for traffic shaping (IMPORTANT).

4. Video support.

5. Optional computer to phone calls (at a price of course).

6. Optional support for encryption.

7. Optional support for alternative IMs.

I found WengoPhone, but their registration site is down or closed. Really interested in alternatives.

Funny when a thread wakes up after a long time sleep...

X-lite is not free... it is as proprietary as Skype but possibly uses a better protocol. What is more does, you'll never know.

Take a look at the comparison mentioned earlier

and use software that are licensed under a free license like GPL2 or 3.

We are using ITPVOIP, their Global unlimited package, gives us unlimited calling to both landlines and cell phones for Thailand. I'm not a fan of their customer service, as its open only business hours Monday through Friday Eastern time. Costs us about $38 bucks a month. In defense of the earlier comment about service, I have only had an issue with the service 2, one of which was my ISP being down.
