Noted a few comments regarding the high prices of Turkeys at Rimping. 490 Baht per Kilo is a bit high.

Complained regarding that and discovered they had sold out their normal order and had to airfreight to keep disgruntled customers happy. Hense the high prices.

My wife's father has a small poultry farm and raises chickens and ducks mostly. He has one HUGE turkey that he keeps as a novelty. I had my eye on that beast for Christmas dinner but Dad says it's too old. Anyway, I have this idea that I may buy a couple of dozen chicks each year for the holiday season, take what I need and sell the rest - providing bird flu doesn't get in the way. In the US, I always used to order a fresh turkey, it makes a huge difference when the bird isn't frozen.

Will let you all know what happens next Thanksgiving. :o

Did that a couple of years ago. Bought a cock and two hens and reared about a dozen chicks. Far too soft to bring their short lives to an end, so sent them off with Father in Law who now has over fifty. Seems he won't butcher them either...

p1p, are you talking about Turkeys? If so, where did you get them?

As far as slautering them, I'll let my Father-in-law be the executioner. I'm too soft as well.

I bought a nice plump Thai turkey at Lotus Hang Dong yesterday. Haven't cooked it yet, so can't comment on the quality. Looks much better than the Thai turkeys I saw at Rimping. There were several left in the freezer.

For the just past Thanksgiving Holiday I cooked a couple of Thai Turkeys.... Mine were very, very high in fat content and consequently oily...... I would be interested in hearing from you after you roast the turkey, how it came out

If possible look at and under the front chest cavity below the neck... there must have been a 1/2 inch of fat all across this area....

Also if you would , what was the price per kilo and the weight of the bird ?

Look forward to hearing your report

Happy turkey eating...

I won't be thawing and roasting her until xmas, so it will be awhile before I can give a full report. The price is 150 baht a kilo. This bird weighs 5.24 kg. The price tag says that it is a CP turkey, but the wrapper lists some other company from Pratum Thani.

I Am Glad I Picked You

I saw you across a crowded room.

Among all the others that were there,

The lights seemed to shine down on you alone.

I knew then I had to have you for my own.

Willingly, you came with me to my home.

From the car, I carried you in and through the door.

Looking at you, I admire your body, your well-shaped legs, and breasts.

Slowly I remove what wraps around your body so tightly,

Fitting you like a glove, exposing your tender skin.

From your neck I remove your charms

And carry you off in my arms, to the warm water that awaits.

The water cascades down your neck

Flowing over your soft breasts then, making your legs glisten with wetness.

Droplets of water cover your taut skin.

My hands rub your body, ummmm running them threw the beads of water.

Making them trickle down off your body.

I place my fingers inside you.

You are warm and moist, so ready.

I carry your still dripping body, to a laying place,

So that I can put inside you what was well prepared to enter you

Before we even came through the door.

As soon as I lay you down your legs spread open wide.

You are ready now and so am I.

I put a little in slowly at first, getting a feel for how much you can take in.

I put in more, you take it willingly.

In anticipation, faster and faster I put it in

Pushing it in deeply as far as I can, until I can't put any more in,

You are so tight.

With your legs wrapped tightly

Not wanting to release any of it

I make you so hot for a very long time

Until you’re sweet juices escape from within.

Then I taste you, with my tongue at first,

Your skin is so soft and tender.

I taste more of you with my mouth

You are so hot, and moist, you taste so good.

Your juices coating my mouth

Making me drool in anticipation of eating you more, with every taste.

"Oh yes", I say to you,

"I must say Grace"

"Thank God for Butterball turkey.... Amen" :D

Bad News : The are 300 Baht per Kilo ... Just for the record last year I was able to buy NOrbest for 155 Baht per Kilo,,,,, I rate Norbest as lower than Butterball, but not as low a Thai Turkey...

But anyway in time for the holiday...

My Thai turkey came out fine and tasty. But, at 4.9 kilos, a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but that was the biggest they had...

The stuffing was delicious, too :o

Sorry for the delay. We eneded up roasting her on New Years. A very nice bird. Tender and juicy. I didn't notice the excessive fat that one poster mentioned. :o
