Hello!

My husband (28yrs.) and I (25yrs.) are both American. We live in Chiang Mai but do not work here. We had a 6 month multiple entry non immigrant O visa, which expired in August. We travel so much we've been on 30 days ever since. However, we are back in the country for longer now and need to reapply for the multiple entry. We do have a company in the states AND in Thailand who have written letters to vouch that they will take care of us. We don't work here so we can't get a B visa.

Any thing I need to know for going to Vientianne? Do they give one year, multi entry non immigrant O visas? I know we might need to show B20000 per person at the Thai border. Any info would be great.

Thanks.

You will probably be lucky to even get a tourist visa in Vientiane with your passports and I am almost sure a multi O is not in the stars. If you really want that visa would suggest you go to Oz or USA. You could try Penang but would not count on it; but you probably could obtain tourist visas there.

Go to Penang. they will issue a 6 month double entry or 9 month triple entry. If you use an agent(i did. its easier) the agent will charge 220RM for 6 months and 320 for 9 month. The exchange at the moment is 95 RM to 1000Baht. Hope this helps.

I just got my new Non-imm 'B' in Vientianne. I requested a multiple entry visa that should cost 5000 Baht. I have a very well funded company here in Thailand and all relevant paperwork, and my application didnt even get past the forst desk officer. They would only issue me with a single entry Non-B for 3 months. Not a lot of use for me as im in and out of the country every other week. However, not a major problem as ill just get a multiple re-entry permit with my work permit. The moral of the story??? Vientianne are not the best place to get your visa.
