Computer Courses In Phuket

Wife have got promoted and need to be Computer literate +

Can anyone recommend a school, institute where they have afternoon/evening courses.

I have had a look at the website to ECC, but I find only English courses?

My wife attended an ECC course ... in Thai. Most student and all the teachers are in fact Thai. Seems to be a well organised place, my wife thought it was Ok.

YOu can be tutorial CD's in Thai. I bought one ages ago at Panthip but im sure they sell them here. Mabye in one of the book shops. Or even a computer book would come along with a cd. The cd I had was just like a movie ..........

Meant to say ECC computer course at Phuket Town....taught in Thai. ECC is an English language & Computer school.

Try their main web site www.eccthai.com although I have to say all it describes are the English courses. Maybe you should call them.

I had a friend who also did a computer course at ECC, though if someone could post updated information that would be great.

I looked at the blurb she was given and it seemed you could pick and chose the modules you wanted, and 'pay as you go' on them. E.g. Word plus Excell was one price. Word, excell and powerpoint was another.

The girl said that the course was good - though its all in thai and also the pull down menus in word etc are also in thai

For posters on here thinking of sending their wives/girlfriends etc, here is a suggestion for ya. Create two user accounts on your PC, one for you and one for her, in her account, make all the pull downs in Microsoft Office to be in Thai, and in your account make them in English. I cant remember exactly how to do it, but i know its possible cos i did it on my last pc for my last girlfriend.

ECC - Computer Training

Some basic info I got from my better half today.

The computer training course they at present arrange is called, Business Computer / Internet. Consist of Windows, Word, Excel, Power point and Access, plus some basic Internet use.

Its based on a group with five students with a total of 90 hours. They had a special price just now, reduced from 9750,- to 5850,- Baht.

It is possible to take this course on daytime 0900am - 1600 pm, Afternoon 1300-1600 pm or as evening classes. The schedule as far as I understand it , was very much up to what fit the group?

Right now they had no classes due to lack of interested students but they recommended people to come by the office and fill in the application form and when enough (five) interested people to form a group they would contact each student.

It is also possible to study only parts of the above course. Example Windows and the price then was 1950,- Baht and 18 hours.

They also have Private Computer courses.

Business Computer / Other Office programs - 12 hours, 6300,- Baht.

Internet Discovery / web page Design/ Web animation / Graphic Design - 12 Hours, 6900,- Baht

Special Computer Courses

Network administration / programming

Advanced Office Programs / CAI Editor

Web Application / other Special Programs - 18 hours, 18000,- Baht.

You have to wonder how a beginner could even have a basic understand of all those topics in only 12 hours. Even 12 hours EACH would inadequate.
