Sunglasses

Featured Replies

I was wondering what the quality of the sunglasses that are for sale in phuket is (the fake ones) and also do they provide the necessary protection from the sun. I was told that because the lenses are not real they lead your eyes to believe that they are and your pupils open up and can get severly damaged.

Cheers

Pay the extra mate, and buy from a reputable optician in LoS, you only have one pair of eyes, take good care of them. :o

Replicas are quite good. Least the ones I have bought nearly close to same quality as the orginals. You can obviously tell rubbish knock offs so use your own judgement.

do the high quality replicas have good lenses which protect your eyes. if not where do you find the real versions and do people often claim that they are selling a real version when it is actually a replica?

Well if you go to a proper Optometrist Shop- you can buy orginals. As for replicas - yes I have a few copies (rayban/oak) I use and the lenses are just as good as the originals.

I bought a pair of so called real Ray Ban from a so called reputable optician in Phuket three years ago(4600,- Baht) and already now they begin to be worn out. :o

Had a pair with me when I came down here quit a few years ago now, which I got in the army, lasted more than ten years before I gave them away to our neighbours soon. :D

You really have to be an optician for be 100% sure if its real or not its a lot of mix around. :D
