Hi...Can someone answer this question for me please -- I recently went to Thailand, as a tourist, for just two months & one week. I did two visa runs (leaving the country a week after my second visa run). It's been a month since I left Thailand and now I want to go back, in the next couple of weeks or so. Will I be allowed back in as a tourist, seeing as i didn't stay 3 whole months last time? Or do i have to stay away for 90 days?

The rule is a total of 90 days in a six month period using 30 days stamps.

From the little information you provide it looks like you may have about 3 weeks left of your quota.

You are going to have to work it out.

You will have to apply for a tourist visa at a Thai consulate or embassy. The 90 day rule doesn't apply to that.

Best if you state your nationality next time, as the requirements differ per nationality.

So....i can either go for about 3 weeks, cuz that's all that's left in my allotted time....or if i get a thirty day visa from an embassy then can I stay for the 30 days?

You should be able to get a tourist visa which is good for 60 days and can be extended for another 30 days ...

All depending on your nationality.

I'm British. Does that mean I can just arrive there and they will give me another 30 day visa automatically? Or do I still have to stick to the 90 day restriction? Or get a visa from where I am now (Dubai?)

Sorry to be asking so many questions...just wanna make sure I get everything sorted.

You can arrive and maybe get around 3 weeks. But you still have not given us any dates of previous stays.

Best idea, get a Visa . 60 day stay that can be extended for a further 30 days.

I think I will probably just stay for 3 weeks then. here are the dates, just FYI. I arrived in Thailand on the 25th of august, i did one visa run on the 18th september, then another visa run on the 17th of october. i left Thailand a few days later, on the 22nd of october. i have a flight booked to phuket for saturday 29th november.

Chances are that you will be given 30 days as you are arriving from an international flight --- BUT the law states you would only be entitled to the number of days you would have left from your 90 in 6 months ---

I do not know if there is a consulate or embassy where you are and am far too lazy to look FOR you :o

August 25th until October 22nd is only 59 days. So if that's your only visit to Thailand in the last six months, you would be entitled to a full 30 days stamp when you arrive later this month.

Are you sure about those dates? In your original post you said you had stayed two months and one week, now it's less than two months.

Oh yeah...it was just about 2 months then. I forgot my visa run was a week before the end of the month....So yeah, in total I was only in Thailand for two months, but did 2 visa runs. Ok good, that buys me a bit more time then if they still count my 90 days :o

So just to clarify, if I go in one week and just turn up at Phuket Airport (from KL) they should give me a stamp and just let me in right? Because I don't think I can get a visa in advance from the embassy here, its quite difficult apparently. It would be easier to just go, and hopefully I will be allowed in no problem, because I won't be staying more than 2/3 weeks.

If the dates you supplied are correct, ad the total adds up to 59 days, you will not have a problem for another 2 - 3 weeks.
