Stopped by Raindogs last night after receiving numerous invites via FB and found it a very dull but gay place. As of midnight there was perhaps 30 people there.

Mixing was mediocre and the play list eclectic to say the best - jumping from one genre to another. Main interest seemed to be on the indoor tent being used as a projection screen for hardcore gay porn depicting well endowed ladyboys demonstrating their prowess's.

Perhaps it might go off later in the night but this type of video show is not something that I go to clubs for. Another FB group I can remove now.

I find this account rather difficult to believe. Can you tell us what day of the week this was? Every Tues evening Rain Dogs screens documentary films pertaining to photography. After reading your post, I checked with the owners of the bar, and they said they don't show films on any other night, and that they have never screened porn there, whether gay or straight. None of the owners are gay, and the clientele is usually quite mixed. It is certainly not a gay bar - not that there's anything wrong with that. But claiming they were publicly screening a porn film is a rather serious charge here.

Is the desire for this contemporary look at these places (think The Jetsons) why they have so many plastics and materials that give off hazardous gases when they burn?

What is the safety like at places like this and Narcissus?

They used to have a few decent dj's. It's an ok place to hang if you've got a date. Drinks are decent. Can get too crowded at times. Overpriced IMHO. Lot of westerners, if that's your thing.

Well it was certainly very gay on New Years eve.

So how are the fire exits in Bed?

i have been to bed twice in the last week and i didn't notice any fire exits. as far as i recall there are 4 exits; the sliding door entrances to the white room and the big bar, an exit on the way down to the bathrooms, and an exit behind the DJ booth (both the latter marked for staff only). looking around the other night i got a chill up my spine thinking about what might happen if there were a fire there, as it has a similar 3-floor setup as santika did, and it is difficult enough to manoeuver those stairs on a regular night. it gets pretty packed. and good point about the futuristic materials used, probably not flame retardant eh.

also went to club culture last week which i liked a lot by the way even though it was dead, but that place is another fire trap for sure!

Love this place, went for a meal there on the 10th December and later back to the nightclub.

Got into the nightclub for free as I had dined there earlier. Food was great, a bit pricey for Bangers but great all the same.

I am sure its 21 to get in as the girl I was with is 20 and had to borrow id from her friend.

Not sure if I got id'd as was too drunk to remember. I am 31 though so not a big deal.

Plan to go back there on the 14th March, going to dine first then head straight into the nightclub so the girl can avoid the id checks at the front door.

i am really not into Bed anymore... it is predominantly farang men trying to pick up, and thai girls doing the same. shame, as the venue is nice.

Haven't been this place for a good 2-3 years now. A little too much on the pretentious side of things.

welcome to the club girlx.. beds problem is the people that go! too close to the whoring areas and too expensive for the people you end up mixing with.

Would you (or anyone) mind describing culture club for me? It's my 30th B-day tomorrow and I'm looking for a good place to bring 10+ people to drink and electro/techno/house dance the night away.

Was planning on going to Flix at RCA - did that last year - always up for something new though!

club culture is big and dark with a long bar down one side and a large dancefloor. there are comfy couches around at the peripheral and a row of tables. when i was there there were only about 10 people at 11p. drinks weren't great. still, they had good music and it isn't as maddeningly crowded as most places in BKK.

just answering your Q about why else people may go to clubs. In some clubs youre in the minority if not accompanied by one of the aforementioned gentlemen.

might have to try make it over for that now
